LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During a town hall event on January 4, CNN moderator Erin Burnett questioned former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley about a signed commitment she made to oppose and veto net tax hikes if elected President, as per Forbes.

In recent developments, attorney Leo Terrell has shared a tweet, which says 'Nikki Haley will raise taxes', suggesting a significant policy shift in Haley's stance on taxation.

CNN faces criticism over Nikki Haley tax question

Burnett's framing of the question suggested that CNN may not be familiar with Haley's record.

Burnett specifically asked why Haley made a written commitment to avoid raising federal taxes now, while not making a similar pledge when running for state senate in South Carolina nearly two decades ago.

The report criticized CNN, suggesting that the network either did not realize or failed to conduct sufficient research to know that Nikki Haley had previously made a written commitment to oppose net tax hikes.

Notably, Haley first signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge in 2010 when she was running for governor.

Furthermore, former President Donald Trump's campaign is accusing Nikki Haley of championing a gas tax hike during her tenure as governor.

The report categorizes this charge as false and misleadingly incomplete. It clarifies that the campaign to raise South Carolina's gas tax did not succeed until after Haley left office in 2017, following her appointment to Donald Trump's cabinet.

The assertion aims to refute the accusations against Haley regarding the gas tax hike during her governorship.

Internet questions GOP's stance on making Trump's tax cuts permanent

Following these incidents, several took to Terrell's X/Twitter post, writing, " So…is any Republican working at making @realDonaldTrump‘s tax cuts permanent??? Never hear much about this…why is that??? Very odd…maybe people don’t like lower taxes, & really want bigger government??? Who woulda thunk it?"

Other comments read, "She'll Raise your Taxes. She'll make you register your real name to comment on the Internet. She'll take away your guns - she's very anti-gun. She'll sell us out like Biden has. She's a Liar and a Flip-Flopper - we have the Videos. She's John Kerry in Drag."

Another user said, "Not President material."

"Likki Haley won't do, because she could NEVER, fairly, win an election," said one.

"Laughable," read a comment.

"Nikki is not raising anything. Zero chance of being elected," asserted one user.

"True. She did it in South Carolina," said another.

"We are not seeing the real side of this woman (Nikki) she’s hiding something," noted one user.
