WASHINGTON, DC: Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has accused CNN of threatening his campaign with 'cease & desist' hours after posting his town hall video.

The Indian-origin candidate took to X on Monday, January 1, and slammed the news network.

He wrote, "This game is RIGGED. CNN threatened my campaign with a cease & desist within 12 hours of posting my town hall after it got 200k+ views on YouTube in a matter of hours." Ramaswamy further claimed that rival GOP presidential contender Nikki Haley's CNN town hall is still up after six months despite having only 68K views.

"They're trying their best to prop up their puppet. Don't let them."

The town hall took place on December 13, 2023, in Des Moines, Iowa, with CNN's Abby Phillip as the moderator. It was at this event Ramaswamy urged the SCOTUS to rule against the FDA's approval of the abortion pill mifepristone in the country.

Not the first time Vivek Ramaswamy has accused CNN

It is not the first time the biotech entrepreneur has alleged CNN's threats against his campaign.

On December 30, 2023, also he shared the concern on X, saying the news network's "egregious interference with the Iowa GOP caucus is offensive."

"My CNN town hall with the voters here went so well that they cut it off early & then threatened our campaign with a cease-and-desist for posting it on YouTube, while Nikki Haley's scripted CNN town hall from 6 months ago is still up," he wrote.

He further labeled CNN's upcoming townhall in Iowa on January 10 "fake 'debate'."

"Then CNN notified our campaign within 48 hours that multiple qualifying polls that the RNC used for its debates wouldn't count for CNN's fake 'debate' that they're hosting in Iowa on January 10. The dishonesty needs to end," the White House hopeful added.

According to the latest opinion polls analyses by FiveThirtyEight, Ramaswamy is fourth behind Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, and Nikki Haley in the Republican primary polls.

Supporting former President Trump in his latest hurdles like Maine primary disqualification, he doubled down on his pledge to withdraw his name from the ballot until the latter is reinstated. Furthermore, his campaign recently has made demands to shut down federal agencies.

Internet agrees with Vivek Ramaswamy's claims

Netizens are backing up Ramaswamy's claims of the election being rigged and reminded him that is how politics works.

Another user remarked, "Just be careful, you're butting up against some very powerful and very terrible people."

"It’s cute that you think you have or had a chance based on “views” and “followers” brother. It means nothing in the real world," another user added.

A fourth user said, "Big Government + Big Tech are rigging the game. Both political parties are complicit."

"It's always been rigged. Welcome to politics and that's why they play dirty. Kinda have to," read one reaction.

While one user stated, "Everything is rigged," another added, "Absolutely rigged. Someone has to clean house."
