Former President Donald Trump is infamous for his hateful and inflammatory remarks. This has led to widespread public outrage on multiple occasions. The case is not different among the public figures. Quite a few celebrities are not fans of the reality star turned President. As Trump leads among the Republican presidential candidates eying for a second term in the Oval Office in 2024, let us look at fifteen celebrities who have dissed the former President.

Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep took the global stage to call out Trump. She slammed the then President in her 2017 Golden Globes speech. Recalling the incident when Trump disrespected a disabled reporter 'The Devil Wears Prada' actress said, “It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter, someone he outranked in privilege, power, and the capacity to fight back." She added, “It kind of broke my heart when I saw it. I still can’t get it out of my head because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life.” Instigated by the remarks, Trump labeled Streep an "overrated actress."

Alec Baldwin

Actor and comedian Alec Baldwin Trump's impersonation on 'Saturday Night Live' was not a result of him being a fanboy. Baldwin's displeasure with the former President became clear in a podcast interview with journalist Katie Couric where he accused him of misusing his presidential powers. Responding to his Trump impression he said, "Whether it was Tony Bennett or [Al] Pacino or [Robert] De Niro … there's an element of appreciation for them. With Trump, I don't have that element of appreciation, which makes it difficult. The key to doing him was to be a man who paused regularly, almost metronomically paused, to dig for a better word—and never came up with a better word."

Jimmy Kimmel

Television host Jimmy Kimmel is also not a Trump fan since he tops the list of the ex-president's harshest critics. In a November episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', he took a jab at Trump's legal battles and the government's potential shutdown. "Didn't we just go through this last month? When did this whole country turn into a deadbeat dad?" He continued, "Speaking of deadbeat dads – Donald Trump was not in court today. The ketchup on the walls is closing in." Similarly, in March, he dissed the ex-White House resident, saying, "His legal problems are based on him being an idiot."

Barbra Streisand

Singer and actress Barbra Streisand a friend of former President Bill Clinton blasted out at Trump in her recent memoir 'My Name is Barbra'. According to her the White House hopeful "lies as easily as he breathes." She stated, "I can't stand being lied to, and I don't think the country should be lied to either. And I just couldn't comprehend how he could tell all these lies with absolutely no guilt (clearly he's not Jewish.)" Streisand's disapproval of Trump does not end here. She frequently tweets criticizing him. In her latest tweet on December 3, she stated, "Trump's whole miserable political philosophy is revenge for his fragile ego." In a second tweet she noted, "Trump is constantly projecting his own situation onto others. He faces 91 felony indictments, and yet calls [Joe] Biden 'corrupt'."

Lady Gaga

Singer Lady Gaga explicitly stated her opposition to Trump during a Pennsylvania rally in 2020 when she asked voters to support Joe Biden and oust the then-incumbent. "[Trump is] a man who believes his fame gives him the right to grab one of your daughters, or sisters, or mothers or wives by any part of their bodies," said the 'Bad Romance' singer.

Will Smith

Trump's sexist comment referring to women as "fat pigs" was indigestible to Will Smith. "My grandmother would have smacked my teeth out of my head if I had referred to a woman as a fat pig," he told news.com.au in 2016 before the presidential elections took place. "And I cannot understand how people can clap for that. It's absolutely collective insanity. If one of my sons, I am getting furious just thinking about it, if one of my sons said that in a public place, they couldn't even live in my house anymore," added the 'I Am Legend' actor.

Mark Ruffalo spoke out against Trump, sharing The New York Times' Opinion Shorts audio clip by editor Alex Kingsbury, who claimed the former president's violent speech has escalated. Sharing the material on X in October, the 'Avengers' star said, "Now Is the Time to Pay Attention to Trump's Violent Language. Presidential contender is calling for Americans to kill and harm Americans. Let that sink in. Enemy of America from within."

Chelsea Handler

Comedian and actress Chelsea Handler is another celebrity disinterested in the billionaire former President. Reflecting on Trump's 2016 presidential victory, she revealed that it triggered the pain she went through when her brother passed away when she was nine. In her 2019 conversation with The Hill, she said, "Trump was a trigger for me … there's another word that I never thought I'd use, but it's a perfect word to describe it because it represented to so many people their lives becoming unhinged." In a 2018 Twitter (now X) post, she stated that Trump's presidency was why she became a political activist, leaving her Netflix talk show.

Richard Gere

In a 2016 interview with the Evening Standard, the 'Pretty Woman' star said, "Here's a guy who's obviously Mussolini, how is it possible that people would be supporting this guy? You can try to find reasons. It's about how disillusioned they are, how afraid, how confused. " He also called the real estate mogul a "demagogue, a clown."

It started when the former President attacked Teigen and her husband, John Legend, calling her a "filthy-mouthed wife." The model's profane response to the tweet, "Lol what a p**** a** b****. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president," was asked to be removed by the White House.

'Girls' star Lena Dunham gave full credit to Trump for her slim figure. She reportedly could not eat anything when the billionaire entered the Oval Office in 2016. She even declared that she would leave for Canada if he, who is ill-famed for attacking women, won the election.

Comedian Rosie O'Donnell's spat with Trump began before his presidency around December 2006, when she was a co-host of 'The View'. However, her criticisms became harsher when he entered the White House in 2016. She shared her shock and rage on his political success in a 2017 conversation with the 'W Magazine.' "I seriously worry whether I personally will be able to live through [his presidency] and whether the nation will be able to live through it and survive," O'Donnell said and added. "It's a terrifying concept, on the brink of nuclear war with a madman in charge."
