NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ty Cobb, a former White House attorney to Donald Trump has given a scathing evaluation of the former President’s lawyer Alina Habba who represented him in the E Jean Carroll case.

Last week, a jury ordered Donald Trump to pay $83.3 million to the columnist who brought in the defamation charges against the GOP candidate.

Alina Habba represented Trump during his legal fight against Carroll in the defamation trial. However, it looks like, Trump is in search of a new attorney after he vowed to contest the verdict in court.

Recently, he took to his Truth Social account to seek a new attorney to represent him in his upcoming appeal in the court.

During a recent interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett, the veteran attorney Cobb was asked about his opinion on how Habba handled Trump’s case.

Cobb replied instantly, “I think she’s handled it in the mafia way," per Huff Post.

Insinuating that Habba did what Trump dictated, Cobb said, “She’s articulated his political narrative of victimization and unfairness in the judicial system, and made some outlandish claims... and she lost.”

He continued, “So, she’s a loser,” before adding, “I’m not surprised that Trump is looking for appellate representation.”

Netizens are divided on their opinion of Alina Habba

Internet was left divided in their opinion as the netizens voiced out their comments on the matter.

One of the social media users said, "Blame the top guy folks, the boss is responsible. He’s no victim of bad lawyering, he liked her performance and complimented it all."

Someone else said, "Trump can only "scrap the bottom of the barrel" anymore. No respectable lawyer will represent this man."

"You get what you paid for. When your lawyer states “I rather be beautiful than smart!” It’s best you find someone else rather quickly. 🤘🏻🤘🏻," said another user.

Someone else, however, said in support of her, "She represented Trump accurately and with style. The NYC judicial system is rigged to not give Trump a fair trial. From crooked judges and DAs to the unfair juries seated to convict Trump. The trials have been similar to the soviet style show trials in the old soviet union."

Another user pointed out, "The problem was the fact that she was just his mouthpiece. She didn't control the trial or the defendant. He controlled her. He told her what he wanted her to say. Her performance was the performance he wanted to put on."

"Are we getting to the point where the court will appoint a lawyer for it? Certainly, we're running out of those that'll ruin their lives by taking the case voluntarily," said one user.
