MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Attorney Alina Habba argued former President Donald Trump should get "damages" for defending the "garbage claims" against him.

Talking to Fox News's Sean Hannity, Habba made the claims while weighing in on the allegation that New York Attorney General Letitia James and Fulton County DA Fani Willis visited the Biden White House.

Trump's legal spokeswoman said, "He [Trump] should get damages for how much he's been prosecuted and how many years he's had to pay for lawyers and defending these garbage claims."

"He shoud get damages," she asserted.

The closing arguments in the civil fraud trial against the former president and his two sons Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump wrapped up on Thursday, January 10. Reuters reported Justice Arthur Engoron hoped to issue the ruling by January 31.

NYAG James filed the civil fraud trial accusing Trump and his sons of inflating his net worth for years.

Alina Habba accuses Letitia James of coordinating with the Biden administration against Trump

Habba on Fox News alleged that James was in the White House twice, once in August and the second amid the litigation and also at Vice President Kamala Harris's home.

The attorney questioned why she would go to the White House and meet the Biden administration in the midst of the trial.

"She is coordinating with the Biden adminstarion," Habba claimed.

Accusing James of "political agenda," the lawyer added, "The Trump organization paid over $300 million in taxes over the past few years to employees. This is about people that work in the company."

Arguing about the lack of evidence against Trump, Habba said it was obvious the trial was an election interference.

Trump was arraigned during his first court appearance today following an indictment by a grand jury that heard evidence about money paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election. With the indictment, Trump becomes the first former U.S. president in history to be charged with a criminal offense.
