NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In the ongoing New York Civil Fraud trial, New York Attorney General Letitia James is calling for a $370 million penalty against former President Donald Trump and his companies.

In addition, James has called for a lifetime ban on Trump and two of his former company executives from the real estate industry in the state.

Following this, Trump took to Truth Social to respond to the same, and his response has been shared by Fox News anchor Sean Hannity on X, formerly known as Twitter.

On X, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity quoted part of Donald Trump’s response amid the Civil Fraud trial and wrote, “‘THEY SHOULD PAY ME!:’ Trump Unloads After NY AG Seeks Huge Sum for 'Ill-Gotten Gains'; Report.”

“TRUMP: ‘NOW THE CORRUPT A.G. WANTS $370,000,000 AS BUSINESSES FLEE NEW YORK. THEY SHOULD PAY ME. THIS IS PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT—A DOJ WITCH HUNT!’” added Hannity from part of Trump’s statement on Truth Social.

In addition, Hannity’s official website was further updated with details about the aforementioned response from Trump, directed at Attorney General Letitia James.

Hannity wrote about the “highly publicized civil fraud trial” but the focus remained on Trump and his reaction to the news “in an all-caps blast.”

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I DID NOTHING WRONG, MY FINANCIAL STATEMENTS ARE GREAT, & VERY CONSERVATIVE, THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT THE HIGHLY POLITICAL & TOTALLY CORRUPT NEW YORK STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL SAYS.”

Trump continued, “SHE RAN FOR OFFICE ON, “I WILL GET TRUMP,” SHE & THE JUDGE FRAUDULENTLY VALUED MAR-a-LAGO IN PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AT $18,000,000, BECAUSE IT SET THEIR FAKE NARRATIVE, WHEN IT IS WORTH 50 TO 100 TIMES THAT AMOUNT.”

In his lengthy statement against James, Trump also stated, “THEY NEVER USED THE “N.Y.S. STATUTE” FOR THIS BEFORE, I WAS NOT ALLOWED A JURY, THERE WAS NO VICTIM, NO DEFAULT, NO DAMAGES, NO “NOTHING,” ONLY A VERY HAPPY BANK THAT GOT ALL OF ITS MONEY BACK, WITH BIG PROFITS.”

Trump continued his tirade against Letitia James as he further claimed, “THE HIGHLY RESPECTED EXPERT WITNESS SAID IT WAS THE BEST FINANCIAL STATEMENT HE HAD EVER SEEN. THIS CASE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN BROUGHT, SHOULD BE IN THE COMMERCIAL DIVISION (THE RIGGED JUDGE WOULD NOT LET GO OF IT!), & I SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN GAGGED.”

To conclude his post, he wrote the statement that Hannity quoted, “NOW THE CORRUPT A.G. WANTS $370,000,000 AS BUSINESSES FLEE NEW YORK. THEY SHOULD PAY ME. THIS IS PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT—A DOJ WITCH HUNT!”

Internet mocks Donald Trump’s response to $370M penalty request

After Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X to share Donald Trump’s response, the internet was quick to chime in. One user wrote, “Trump is like a kid always getting in trouble but always blaming someone else, I know they are out to get him, but he's been a corrupt businessman most of his life.”

"The only corrupt person here is Trump! Stop projecting!" wrote one user, and another said, "Hit Trump hard. I don’t think it’s a high enough settlement."

A fourth person added, "No this a crook getting caught," and another speculated, "What's the odds Trump wins this argument? I say maybe 10%."

People continued to weigh in on the matter as one user expressed, "Well we knew he would whine no matter the amount."
