PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Just as the trend of Ron DeSantis' alleged heeled boots begins to fade, social media is now abuzz with discussions about Donald Trump's "toe pads."

The discovery of two black rectangular pads under the former president's feet while he was addressing an audience at Mar-a-Lago has not been well-received on social media.

"What is Trump standing on here? How often does he use these?" queried one account in an X post, accompanied by a photo showing Trump's glossy black shoes resting on the pads.

The mystery behind Donald Trump's 'toe pads'

The reason behind the former president's use of these "toe pads" remains a mystery, but it has certainly sparked a flurry of online discussions as people attempt to decipher the significance of this accessory.

The sight of Trump with these pads has ignited a variety of theories on the internet.

Some users have speculated that Trump's forward lean could be indicative of potential frontotemporal dementia, a condition characterized by symptoms such as coordination problems and muscle weakness.

Another theory suggests that Trump uses the toe pads to balance the 3-inch lifts in his shoes, allegedly due to his inability to support his own weight.

Amid these conjectures, some users have injected a dose of humor into the speculation.

Internet gives its theories on Donald Trump's 'toe pads'

While one user said, "It’s a “hate” charging pad. Now we know why he never runs low," another explained, "Perhaps that defeats his standing hunched over "minotaur" pose."

One  user tweeted, "An attempt to counterbalance his bizarre forward lean, which he does to mask his weight." It’s a “hate” charging pad. Now we know why he never runs low.

Another user added, "They serve a dual purpose; the first is so he doesn't tip over and second so he doesn't wander around the room not knowing where he is supposed to be."

"Stops him from leaning forward. Forward lean is indicative of Frontotemporal Dementia. That's the word on the street," stated another.

"Frontotemporal dementia, advancing. Also drinks with both hands, shuffles down ramps, incontinence," claimed another.

One person remarked, "When you lean forward and cannot balance yourself upright that is a symptom of dementia."

Another user suggested, "I suspect it's just a marker. Rather than put tape or chalk on the floor, they put pads....?" "Bone spur treatment," added another.

"This is to keep him from tipping forward to counter act the 3 inch lifts he wears in his shoes," noted another.
