DURHAM, NEW HAMPSHIRE: Former President Donald Trump became a target of furious internet trolling as he doubled down on his claims that “terrible” wind turbines are killing “all our birds and whales”.

On Saturday, December 16, the 77-year-old GOP presidential candidate addressed hundreds of supporters at a rally in Durham, New Hampshire, where he claimed that the wind turbines, allegedly built in China, are “ruining our planes and fields,” by killing birds and whales.

“By the way you know the one thing about climate, so we fight like hell and they put up all these windmills all over the place that if you add the cost of rebuilding and they're all rebuilt, you know, in China, they're all built in China and they said, let's assume you're a big believer in this,” he asserted at the rally.

The real estate mogul then continued by stating that wind turbines are one of the most expensive sources of energy. “They send big fumes in, so you add it all up and it's terrible. You can't get rid of the blades, they only last ten years. These are the most expensive energy you can do,” he stated.

“They kill all our birds. If you want to see a bird cemetery, go under a windmill sometimes you'll see birds like you never saw. It's a very. If you love birds, you'll start to weep, but it's. It's just the craziest thing,” Trump continued.

The former president also claimed that wind turbines have killed more than 12 whales this year. “They ruin our planes and fields, they killing our whales. You know, the whales are coming in,” he said.

“I think we had one whale come in in 50 years. This year we had like 12, it’s a terrible thing they are doing to our country,” Trump added.

What did Trump previously say about windmills killing whales?

Trump previously made similar remarks in September when he blamed wind turbines for “driving whales a little batty” and killing them “in numbers never seen before.”

The former president was addressing a huge crowd at a rally in the town of Summerville in South Carolina when he said, “Their windmills are causing whales to die in numbers never seen before. Nobody does anything about that.”

''The windmills are driving them crazy. They're driving the whales I think a little batty and they're washing up on shore at levels never seen before and they want to stop your boats,'’ he continued.

He made the outlandish claim while expressing that he is against a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration rule change that would decrease boat speed limits to protect North Atlantic right whales.

Trump then slammed the Biden administration, saying that the ''Biden speed limit'' would ''demolish the charter fishing business, crush boat manufacturers, and desecrate your cherished Low Country traditions.''

Internet reacts to Donald Trump’s claims

Trump’s remarks have garnered immense social media attention, with users slamming him for claiming that wind turbines are killing “all our birds and whales.”

“Cognitive decline,” one user mocked Trump. “How embarrassing that millions of Americans think this dumb, senile imbecile is appropriate to lead this nation,” a second user slammed.

“He’s in a constant state of decompensation,” a third user trolled, while a fourth one said, “Still flexing his incredible knowledge of fumeology, birdology, and Turbonomic.”

“He's got that freaking sing-song method of speaking which can be hypnotic for these people. Idjits,” a fifth user asserted.

“Every trump complaint relates to a personal vendetta. Always,” one more wrote.
