WASHINGTON, DC: Senator John Kennedy urged President Joe Biden to take a firmer stance against Iran as his administration reportedly told Israel not to retaliate after Tehran fired hundreds of missiles and drones toward the Jewish state on Saturday, April 13, according to Fox News.

During an appearance on 'Fox News Sunday', Kennedy discussed the strike by Iran and criticized Biden for being "wobbly" in his support of Israel.

Sen John Kennedy asks President Joe Biden to 'buy a spine' from Amazon

Kennedy said, "In the past 60 days, we have seen President Biden go wobbly in his support of Israel. With respect, go to Amazon and buy a spine online. Peace through weakness never works, not with these hard, armed men."

About 300 drones and missiles were fired against Israel by Iran from its land, but the great majority were intercepted by air defenses.

In retaliation, Israel launched fighter planes to attack several Hezbollah sites in Lebanon, including a significant facility used for the production of weapons.

The Biden administration has recommended Israel not to react against Iran, according to The New York Times, despite the Jewish state's lack of announcements of plans for a significant counteroffensive.

Furthermore, Kennedy urged Biden to strengthen his backing for Israel, accusing him of "being influenced by the Hamas wing of the Democratic Party."

He added, "The American people may be poor under Biden, but they're not stupid. We need to stand with Israel."

Biden came under fire for his feeble attempt to stop Iran's attack on Israel. When reporters questioned him on Friday on his message to Iran in advance of an anticipated strike against Israel, he simply said, "Don't."

Kennedy forewarned that to defeat Iran and its proxies, the US must remain firm, noting, "Israel's not at war with Hamas or Hezbollah or Yemen. Those are all surrogates for Iran ... Israel is at war with Iran."

"Iran hates Americans. Iran hates Jews. Iran wants to kill Americans and Jews. And if we turn the other cheek to them, we're going to get it in the neck," claimed the Senator.

Internet reacts to Sen John Kennedy's remarks about President Joe Biden

One wrote, "Simply nasty," and another noted, "Biden should get tougher on Iran."

"It doesn't matter what he does the Republicans will still complain," opined a person, while someone else expressed, "If ever there was an opportunity for the US to bring down the harshest sanctions against Iran, now is the time It will accomplish multiple goals and likely prevent Israel from retaliating."

"His jokiness is awful," remarked an individual about Sen Kennedy.  One more shared, "Israel reaped what it sowed... Not something Iran could just let go."
