WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump's joint press conference with Elon Musk at the Oval Office on Tuesday, February 11, turned heads for the presence of the latter's 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii.

Little X accompanied his dad to the White House to witness POTUS sign an executive order requiring federal agencies to cooperate with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as it works to reduce government spending.

Donald Trump was likely displeased with X's antics in the Oval Office

X reportedly dominated the press meet as he did his best to distract Musk while he was fielding questions, by pulling faces and clinging onto his shoulders.

The child also made his father pause by mimicking him while he was speaking about democracy.

While Trump seemingly enjoyed X's presence at the beginning of the conference, his attitude changed noticeably over time. He did describe the child as a “high IQ individual" for the media but was later seen apparently turning away from him as X appeared to tell him something.

The incumbent's mood was arguably not improved when X was seen picking his nose and wiping it on the presidential desk. The historic piece of furniture called the Resolute desk was gifted to President Rutherford Hayes by Queen Victoria in 1880 and has been used by nearly every president since.

At one point, Trump even attempted to reach out to X in an attempt to quiet him as Musk was addressing journalists.

Internet slams Elon Musk for using his son as a 'prop'

Netizens on the social media platform X were not pleased with Musk bringing his 4-year-old son to a press meeting on government spending. Judging by Trump's displeasure at times, some felt Musk had goofed up by bringing his son to such an event.

Most viewers online chastized Musk for his decision.

"His son is there to humanize Musk? Or as a shield? Exploitation at its worst?" wrote a user.

"Using his son as a prop. Elon Musk doesn't belong in US government," shared another.

"It’s genuinely disturbing how he uses his child as a human shield. Also? This man is a f**king idiot and should be nowhere near the government," noted a third.

"Elon having his kid in the Oval Office with POTUS while addressing the media on serious issues is super disrespectful. And why he ain’t in school somewhere?" observed a fourth.

"This is not an appropriate setting for a toddler to be anywhere near being the center of attention. There isn’t anyone that can watch his son for a few minutes while he’s in the oval answering televised questions from the press with the President??" ranted one X user.

"This isn’t amusing or adorable - it’s the inappropriate placement of an irrelevant child in the wrong place at the wrong time. Elon should show better judgment & I cannot imagine the President is going to allow much more of that," said one.

"I am convinced that Musk is finding a lot of things and doing some good things, but this casual style from Oval Office with his kid is so disrespectful to the office of the President. It is absolutely ridiculous and denigrating furthering the circus that politics has become," stated a sixth.

"Elon uses his kid as a prop. He brings him along as a shield and distraction when he expects to receive criticism," slammed yet another.
