Chilling video shows survivors escaping Florida jet crash, audio reveals loss of both engines
NAPLES, FLORIDA: A private jet exploded in Florida, tragically claiming the lives of the two pilots onboard.
The chilling moment was captured on video, showing three survivors - crew member Sydney Ann Bosmans, 23, and passengers Aaron Baker, 35, and Audra Green, 23 - making a desperate run from the fiery wreckage.
The ill-fated aircraft, a Bombardier Challenger 600 business jet, crashed on the I-75 outside Naples after both its engines failed.
The pilots, Edward Daniel Murphy, 50, and second in command, Ian Frederick Hofmann, 65, were unable to steer the jet to safety and lost their lives in the crash.

Moments before the catastrophic crash, the pilot relayed to air traffic control that they had "lost both engines" and that the jet wasn’t going to make it to the airport.
The jet then slammed into the roadway, clipping a vehicle before crashing into a wall. The audio of this chilling communication has been recently released, per Fox News.
In a calm and composed manner, the pilot of the Challenger Hop-A-Jet 823 communicated to the Naples Airport air traffic control on Friday afternoon, "Lost both engines. I'm making an emergency landing."
The air traffic controller reportedly gave clearance for landing.
However, the pilot responded, "We're cleared to land, but we're not going to make the runway. We've lost both engines."
These were his last words before the plane crashed onto Interstate 75 in Naples, erupting into a ball of fire.
The catastrophic crash claimed the lives of the pilot and co-pilot, while miraculously, three others on board survived. There were no casualties on the ground.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office tentatively identified the deceased pilot as Edward Daniel Murphy, 50, from Oakland Park, Florida, and the co-pilot as Ian Frederick Hofmann, 65, from Pompano Beach, Florida.
Among the survivors were one crew member, Sydney Ann Bosmans, 23, from Jupiter, Florida, and passengers Aaron Baker, 35, and Audra Green, 23, both residents of Columbus, Ohio.
Following the crash, the survivors were rushed to the hospital. Their current conditions remain unknown.

Footage taken by Kyle Cavaliere, a motorist who happened to be passing by, revealed towering clouds of smoke billowing from the crash site just moments after the plane's descent, per Daily Mail.
Cavaliere, in a state of shock, exclaims, "It landed on a car too," as he draws nearer to the scene. As he approaches, the sight of massive flames becomes visible, along with debris scattered all over the road.
In the aftermath of the jet crash, a video shows three survivors fleeing from the wreckage. Cavaliere rushes to help and inquires if anyone else is inside the jet.
The survivors confirm that the pilots are still inside but are unsure of their condition. As the video ends, the survivors are seen asking to use Cavaliere's phone.
According to data from FlightAware, the flight was en route to Naples Airport from Ohio State University Airport.
However, the university clarified that the plane was not affiliated with them and had merely utilized their facilities.
The aircraft was owned by Hop-a-Jet, a private charter company based in Florida, and had no connection to the university.

Sydney Ann Bosmans, one of the survivors, is a graduate of the Beyond and Above Corporate Flight Attendant Training School and is employed by Hop-a-Jet, as per her LinkedIn profile.
The Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) has closed all southbound lanes for 24 hours to facilitate the investigation.
