DES MOINES, IOWA: GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy became the butt of many jokes as he appeared to be caught on a hot mic while relieving himself during a live X Spaces broadcast.

The embarrassing incident took place on Sunday, December 10, 2023, when the 38-year-old Indian-American entrepreneur joined Elon Musk to welcome notorious conspiracy theorist Alex Jones back to his micro-blogging platform.

In 2018, Jones' Infowars website account and his Twitter account were permanently disabled due to past violations of the platform's abusive behavior policy.

Permanent suspension, the harshest punishment on X, bans the user from making new accounts and hides the account from public view.

But, on Sunday, the Tesla owner allowed the right-wing provocateur to return to the platform after users voted for the reinstatement five years after a ban.

Vivek Ramaswamy’s hot mic moment

During the live stream, Musk was explaining his decision to allow the Infowar founder back to his social media site, when Ramaswamy said, “Gentlemen I have to go."

“I’m super pro-human, and I mean all humans. Uh, you know, humans in America,” Musk said before being interrupted by another speaker drawing attention to the noise emitting from Ramaswamy’s microphone.

“Somebody's got their phone in the bathroom," Alex Jones pointed out as Musk appeared to be laughing in the background. Mario Nawfal, the call presenter, then told Ramaswamy to switch off his microphone since he was not able to mute him.

“That’s your phone Vivek, I’m not able to mute you,” Nawfal said. After turning off his microphone, Ramaswamy returned and expressed regret for the disruption.

Musk responded with laughter to the interruption telling Ramaswamy he hoped he feels “better now.” “Well I hope you feel better now,” he said, to which, Ramaswamy replied “I feel great, thank you. Sorry about that guys.”

Internet reacts to Vivek Ramaswamy’s hot mic moment

The presidential contender’s unscheduled bathroom visit has sparked hundreds of memes and jokes on social media. “Pees? Thought it was a rain storm. Sounded like he was using a fire hose!” one user joked.

“I would gladly take a very human moment from someone over the constant echo chamber that we usually get,” a second user mocked Ramaswamy.

“That’s disgusting and so disgraceful. So he’s not trying to impress Elon he would rather pee while he’s talking? 🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂😂🤣😂😂,” the third user laughed.

“I think it was just the sink running... but I still love the real life of spaces,” the fourth user stated, while the fifth said “That’s pretty funny. Not something for anyone to complain about, since we all do it, but it is X (Twitter).”

“It was epic. I heard what sounded like a lite waterfall. I wondered who had a waterfall in their backyard? Well. We found out 🤣,” another user asserted.

“TMI, classy thing would’ve been to not point it out. We all do it. But hey those likes won’t click themselves…” one more wrote.
