LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent episode of 'The View,' co-host Ana Navarro couldn't help but express skepticism over South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem's eyebrow-raising anecdote involving a supposed encounter with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Noem recounted the alleged meeting in her new memoir, prompting Navarro to wonder if the governor had confused Kim Jong Un with the South Korean singer PSY, famous for his hit song 'Gangnam Style.'

Kristi Noem details Kim Jong Un encounter in memoir

"Noem's memoir has been under scrutiny lately, particularly due to this anecdote which has been called into question for its accuracy," a report claims. In her book, Noem claimed to have met Kim Jong Un, asserting that he likely underestimated her due to her experience dealing with "little tyrants" during her time as a children's pastor.

Noem wrote, “I remember when I met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. I’m sure he underestimated me, having no clue about my experience staring down little tyrants (I’d been a children’s pastor, after all).”

However, an investigation by The Dakota Scout revealed that such a meeting likely never occurred. Consequently, Noem admitted to the error, with a spokesperson stating that the publisher would rectify the inaccuracies before the book's release.

Ana Navarro slams Kristi Noem over blunder in memoir

"I don’t understand how in the world you confuse meeting Kim Jong Un with, what? I mean, does she think all Koreans look alike?" Navarro said on Monday's episode. "Did she watch a video of PSY singing ‘Gangnam [Style]’ and think it was Kim Jong Un? I don’t understand how you make that kind of stupid lie!”

The hosts also took issue with Noem's assertion in the book about her experience as a children's pastor. Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin were puzzled by this claim, with Haines humorously speculating about the type of church where Noem might have worked.

Navarro quipped back with a sharp retort, suggesting that Noem belonged to the "church of latter day lies."

Twitter reacts: skepticism, criticism, and humor abound amid controversy over Kristi Noem's memoir

On Twitter, reactions to the controversy surrounding Kristi Noem's memoir have been diverse, ranging from skepticism to outright criticism, and even humor.

One user wrote, "Hmm , Just going say it , Definitely Trump’s soon to be New Wife ! . For Sure . Lol"

Another said, "By the way, Kristi Noem herself read her own book for the audible version. So how something could’ve been brought to her attention that she didn’t already know about is a real mystery. Did she not write it and when she read it, did she not listen to it?."

One user wrote, "I’m absolutely not a fan of Kristi Noem, but for these women to be horrified by her lies & never ever say anything abt Biden’s lieing everytime he opens his mouth, is laughable! Also Whoopi says Republicans have no plans for a better future. That’s a lie! Biden is destroying USA."

Another commented, "Ana talking about Gov Noems fake teeth when she literally looks like she has a horses tail on the back of her head."

One said, "Cruella De Noem" Priceless."
