NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump has been mistakenly identifying the son of Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron as a spectator in the gallery.

However, the "well-groomed" individual in the photo that Trump has repeatedly shared on Truth Social, pointed out by a large red arrow, is a reporter from the New York Post.

To set the record straight, the reporter, Ben Kochman, wrote a first-person article aptly titled "It's me, Don!"

Who is Ben Kochman?

Recently, Trump shared a photo on social media with a red arrow indicating Ben Kochman, a senior courts reporter for The Post.

Kochman is known for his extensive coverage of various legal dramas in New York's federal and state courthouses.

Alongside the photo, Trump also shared an article by Laura Loomer, an anti-Muslim activist.

The article incorrectly asserted that the person in the photo was Justice Engoron's son, who was supposedly gaining financial benefits with his "prominent" seat.

"The Post can now confirm that the pictured bespectacled, well-groomed target is not the kin of Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron," the Post reporter stated. "I should know — I’m the guy in the photo."

Despite being informed about the initial post in November, Kochman expressed in his editorial that he initially "felt it wasn't worth giving any air."

However, when Trump "upped the ante by including a comment from famously fact-challenged disgraced ex-Congressman George Santos — I thought it was worth setting the record straight."

Santos reacted to Loomer’s article with a fire emoji and called on the House Oversight Committee to conduct a deeper investigation to uncover any "misconduct."

"As for The Donald," Kochman noted, "it's unclear if he knows who I am. But hopefully he'll soon know who I’m not."

Kochman has stated his intention to attend the closing statements of the fraud trial on January 11, "beard and all." He humorously added in the op-ed that he might surprise everyone by sporting a "mustache."

Internet reacts to Post reporter's op-ed

The internet is buzzing with reactions to the incident where the Post reporter was mistakenly tagged as Judge Engoron's son at Trump's fraud trial.

The reporter has received widespread praise on the internet.  A user tweeted, "Ben, glad to see your humor shine through in this piece."

"Ben this is incredible man," another added.

A third person wrote, "This is one of my favorite pieces of reporting from the entire 11-week affair."

"WTF man. That's wild," added another. "Holy shit no way," stated another.
