LOUISIANA, UNITED STATES: Gypsy-Rose Blanchard-Anderson, now living a life free from prison, has been making headlines by joining Snapchat, posting her first selfie after prison relese and giving a glimpse of her upcoming projects.

However, reports have emerged that she continues to experience lingering effects from her childhood, a time when her mother, Dee Dee, convinced her that she was afflicted with numerous severe illnesses.

The 32-year-old who was the victim of Munchausen by proxy (MSP), now referred to as factitious disorder imposed on another (FDIA), was freed from prison on Thursday morning, December 28, for her involvement in Dee Dee's death in 2015.

She was welcomed by her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson, and a film crew for her forthcoming Lifetime docuseries, 'The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard'.

Before the premiere of her new series on January 5, Gypsy shared with People the details of the numerous unnecessary surgeries and procedures she was subjected to, highlighting the most painful one and its ongoing impact on her life.

Throughout her childhood, Gypsy spent considerable time in hospitals and with various doctors.

Despite her ability to walk, she was compelled to use a wheelchair and had her head shaved under the false pretense that she had leukemia, as claimed by Dee Dee.

Her mother also reportedly asserted that she had the mental capacity of a seven-year-old.

However, among all the hardships, Gypsy pointed out that the extraction of two salivary glands from behind her neck was the most agonizing.

She attributed this to her poor response to anesthesia, which made her recovery process extremely challenging. This has also resulted in a seemingly enduring habit that she feels "annoys people to no end," but she can’t seem to quit.

"To this day," she elaborated, "it has left me with the side effects of having to clear my throat all the time. So I'm always, if you hear me, that is a constant thing that I've had ever since."

Regarding how Dee Dee managed to persuade doctors that the surgery was required, Gypsy revealed that her mother "put [Orajel] on my gums to make me drool at the appointment and complain[ed] to the doctor that [I drool] too much."

As depicted in the chilling 2019 Hulu docudrama 'The Act', which is based on her life, Gypsy shared that whenever she questioned her mother about the necessity of these procedures,"she would get really, really upset with me and start manipulating me in a way that she would take her love from me".

Gypsy described her teenage years with Dee Dee as an emotional "roller coaster," much of which hinged on whether she complied with her mother’s wishes.

Gypsy, along with her husband and family, will be showcased in Lifetime's riveting new docuseries, 'The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard', set to premiere on January 5.

"As a survivor of relentless child abuse, this docuseries chronicles my quest for liberation and journey through self-discovery," Gypsy says in the trailer.

"I am unapologetically myself and unafraid to expose the hidden parts of my life that have never been revealed until now."

Presently, Gypsy is happily married and looking forward to embarking on her new life journey with her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson, in Louisiana.

The Internet quickly reacted Gypsy's revelations. One user commented on Facebook, "She should be suing every doctor who did unnecessary procedures on her. Every medical facility should be held accountable."

Another user added, "The Act on Hulu is her story and it’s a good one.. I don’t blame her.. mother was psychotic."

"I wish her well," stated another.

"I hope this girl is getting the mental health help she needs," mentioned another.

One person remarked, "You know I blame the stupid doctors too! This poor girl!"
