The 32-year-old shared a Snapchat avatar of herself, radiating joy on her Instagram post, just days after her release from a 7-year prison sentence for her mother Dee Dee Blanchard's murder.

Gypsy Rose once again took to her Instagram account, where she has 4.7M followers, to share her first Snapchat avatar. In the caption, she wrote, "Just joined Snapchat. These avatars are awesome! 😁"

Gypsy Rose created a bitmoji using the app, a move that a follower described as her "embracing" the platform

Gypsy Rose had experienced a difficult childhood due to her mother's Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSP), a mental illness that led her to falsify Gypsy's age and health status.

Her mother reportedly compelled her to use a wheelchair, feeding tube, and oxygen tank, despite her ability to walk and breathe without assistance.

She was subjected to unwarranted surgeries and treatments, and her mother received donations and empathy from charities and medical professionals.

She was also coerced into taking unnecessary medications and had her head shaved to persuade their friends, family, and community that she was battling muscular dystrophy, leukemia, and other diseases, as reported by People.

In 2018, People featured an interview with Gypsy Rose where she spoke about her life with her abusive mother.

She revealed that in 2011, her mother started hitting her with a coat hanger, and on one occasion after she had fled, Dee Dee restrained her to the bed with chains.

"She physically chained me to the bed and put bells on the doors and told anybody that I probably would have trusted that I was going through a phase and to tell her if I was doing anything behind her back."
