NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to rant against Speaker Mike Johnson on Saturday, March 23, a day after she filed a motion to oust him from his chair of majority leader.

Greene's outburst was triggered by Johnson's retweet of Rep Mike Collins' message advocating for the Senate to approve the Laken Riley Act.

As per NewsNation, this legislation, supported by Republicans, mandates the Department of Homeland Security to apprehend undocumented immigrants involved in theft, burglary, or comparable offenses.

The post made by Collins read, "The Senate has the Laken Riley Act. They can move it if they want to. Remember, it passed with overwhelming and bipartisan support in the House already. Hopefully, the Senate will do the right thing."

Sharing a screengrab of Johnson's retweet, the US representative for Georgia wrote, "Speaker Johnson reposted this after NOT allowing us ANY amendments to even try to put the Laken Riley Act in the bill."

"Johnson is the one who could have stood up for America against Schumer and put the Laken Riley Act IN the bill! But instead, Johnson fully funded ALL of the Biden admin's deadly border invasion policies and REFUSED to give us a fighting chance!"

"At least Schumer allowed the Senate to vote on amendments and Democrat Senators went after midnight, proving they will shut down the government for what they want, in order to stop ALL good Republican Senator’s amendments," she continued. "Border security and the daily deadly invasion is the number one issue in America!!"

"And Johnson surrendered the power of the purse to do anything to stop it!!! Hell, he just handed Schumer the purse and tied the entire Republican conferences’ hands behind our backs and rammed through the second part of an omnibus that looked no different than Pelosi’s omnibus!!!" slammed Greene, concluding, "This is NOT Republican leadership, this is BETRAYAL!!!"
