NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In the June 29 episode of 'Real Time,' host and comedian Bill Maher joined the critics of President Joe Biden, following his poor debate performance earlier this week, humorously suggesting that Biden's Secret Service code name should be "Amber Heard."

Unlike many Democrats, Maher took the disappointing night in stride, remarking that Biden appeared to be absent from his own debate.

Bill Maher roasts Biden's debate performance

President Biden's performance in the first 2024 presidential debate against Donald Trump was widely criticized as disastrous, underscoring his age-related limitations and reinforcing doubts about his ability to serve another term.

During his monologue, Bill Maher quipped, “I mean Trump told lie after lie after lie. He never would have gotten away with that if Joe Biden was there," adding, “You know Joe, he famously loves trains but apparently not of thought.”

"I don't want to say he s**t the bed, but his new Secret Service name is Amber Heard," Maher quipped, referencing Johnny Depp's allegations that his then-wife Heard defecated on their bed during a 2016 argument.

Bill Maher was referring to Heard's alleged incident where she owned up to the poop found on a bed she shared with Johnny Depp.

Maher has previously stated that Biden's age is a significant issue in the 2024 race and, along with immigration, could contribute to his defeat against former President Trump.

Right after the debate on June 27, Biden faced numerous appeals from donors and pundits urging him to step aside and make way for another candidate to take the nomination.

Despite this pressure, Biden has affirmed his commitment to stay in the race. His decision has received public support from former Presidents Obama and Clinton, indicating continued backing from party leaders.

Bill Maher's abrupt shift displeases his audience

Maher's sudden change in stance, doubting Biden's performance and fitness for a second term after the disastrous debate, was not well-received by his audience.

A viewer expressed, "I guess Bill won't apologize for the comments he's made recently on Club Random saying there is nothing wrong with Biden and that he's sharp as a tack behind the scenes."

In a similar fashion, another observer added, "Welcome Bill, to what half of America already knew. Better late than never."

Furthermore, a viewer pointed out, "I’m blaming bill a bit for this. When ANYTIME during primaries someone would talk about Biden’s Age Bill would scream 'AGIEST.'"

Joining the discussion, a follower shared, "Remember when people like Bill were yelling at others for criticizing Biden’s age?"

A remark underscored, "But Bill, I thought critiquing Biden was ageism? Are you changing your tune?"

Similarly, another comment echoed, "Amber Heard. LMAO. One of the best jokes you've done yet Bill."

Delving deeper into the topic, an individual elaborated, "That monologue was savage."
