LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Charlamagne tha God, renowned for his unfiltered opinions and incisive commentary, has once again stirred the pot, this time taking aim at both ends of the political spectrum and the media landscape that perpetuates their divide.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, the outspoken host of 'The Breakfast Club' radio show didn't mince words, attributing much of the current political chaos in the United States to the media's role in exacerbating polarization.

Charlamagne tha God criticizes media's role in discord

"We are insane right now," he began.

“I blame the media so much for what’s happening,” he said, placing the blame squarely on the shoulders of media outlets for fanning the flames of discord.

Charlamagne, known for his commitment to truth-telling and objectivity, emphasized the importance of honesty in both criticism and praise, regardless of political affiliation.

He highlighted the danger of partisan lies eroding credibility, noting, “I tell people all the time, ‘If you lie to them about Democrats, they won’t believe you when you tell them the truth about Republicans'," he explained. “So why would I sit there and lie to people about the flaws I see in the Democratic Party?”

Charlamagne tha God's unfiltered critique of political parties

Not one to shy away from controversy, Charlamagne didn't spare either major political party in his critique. He dubbed Republicans as "crooks" and Democrats as "cowards," painting a stark picture of the limited choices facing voters in the upcoming presidential election.

“But it’s hard to get people to believe that, because we say that about every presidential election, because every Republican candidate has been demonized,” Charlamagne admitted.

“There’s all this talk about people being tired of Democrats,” he added. “No, people are just tired of politics.”

Despite his criticism, Charlamagne remains acutely aware of the significance of political engagement, describing the upcoming election as "the most consequential" of his lifetime.

However, he acknowledges the uphill battle in convincing disillusioned Americans of its importance, attributing their fatigue not to a specific party but to the broader realm of politics itself.

Reflecting on his own controversies, Charlamagne pointed to instances where his comments were sensationalized by right-wing media outlets. His candid assessments of political figures and social issues have often sparked debate, such as his critique of President Biden's charisma and his skepticism toward diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
