TEHRAN, IRAN: Amid the Iran-Israel ongoing conflict, Iran took a sharp jibe at Israel and President Donald Trump, following a back and forth with the US.

The jibe comes after Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei spoke for the first time since the US strikes, and congratulated 'Iran’s victory over the US regime', according to The Hill.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyeb Abbas wrote on X, "The complexity and tenacity of Iranians is famously known in our magnificent carpets, woven through countless hours of hard work and patience. But as a people, our basic premise is very simple and straightforward: we know our worth, value our independence, and never allow anyone else to decide our destiny."

He continued, "If President Trump is genuine about wanting a deal, he should put aside the disrespectful and unacceptable tone towards Iran's Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, and stop hurting his millions of heartfelt followers."

"The Great and Powerful Iranian People, who showed the world that the Israeli regime had NO CHOICE but to RUN to "Daddy" to avoid being flattened by our Missiles, do not take kindly to Threats and Insults. If Illusions lead to worse mistakes, Iran will not hesitate to unveil its Real Capabilities, which will certainly END any Delusion about the Power of Iran," Abbas mentioned.

Interestingly, Trump reacted to Khamenei’s words and wrote on Truth Social, "Why would the so-called ‘Supreme Leader,’ Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, of the war torn Country of Iran, say so blatantly and foolishly that he won the War with Israel, when he knows his statement is a lie, it is not so. As a man of great faith, he is not supposed to lie."

Moreover, Trump also expressed that he saved Khamenei from "UGLY AND IGNOMINOUS DEATH."

On Wednesday, June 25, Trump announced that US and Iranian officials will be meeting next week to discuss a potential nuclear deal, adding that it was not necessary.

The POTUS continued to defend claims that US strikes "obliterated" Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacities, even though doubt still looms, per The Hill.

Iran claims its nuclear program is still alive and kicking

Following Operation Midnight Hammer, where the US launched surprise strikes on Iran’s key nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan on June 22, Iran claimed that its nuclear program is still alive and kicking.

Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization informed the state media, "The nuclear program of Iran will resume without interruption, and we are ready to restart enrichment; our program will not stop," The Daily Beast reported

A leaked intel assessment from the Defense Intelligence Agency mentioned that the strikes only set Iran’s nuclear timeline back by months.

Moreover, the report claimed that the core components of the program weren't destroyed. That analysis, which was obtained by CNN, has been brushed aside by the White House.

Kelsey Davenport from the Arms Control Association said, "The strikes did damage key Iranian nuclear facilities, like the underground Fordo enrichment site. But Tehran had ample time prior to the strikes to remove its stockpile of near-weapons-grade uranium to a covert location, and it’s likely that they did so."

Interestingly, the decision to strike Iran came with zero congressional approval.
