NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Joy Behar ignited controversy this week after claiming President Donald Trump has a problem with “strong women,” alleging that he surrounds himself with women who are compliant and overly flattering.

'The View' co-host made the remarks during a panel discussion that quickly drew fire from conservatives, including newly signed Fox News contributor and media personality Brett Cooper.

Joy Behar dragged over 'ridiculous' take on Donald Trump’s attitude toward women

Joy Behar, reflecting on her past clashes with the president, claimed Donald Trump singled her out after she joked about his hair while male comedians making similar jokes were left unscathed.

“He really doesn’t like strong women. He likes obedient, dutiful women who compliment him,” the 82-year-old said.

But during the Thursday, June 26, episode of 'Fox & Friends', Cooper pushed back sharply, calling the accusation “completely ridiculous.”

“Trump's entire administration is filled with strong, intelligent women,” the 23-year-old argued. “Maybe it's not the fact that you're a woman, Joy, but it's just that you are Joy, and he doesn't want to deal with you. It’s less about you being a woman and just about who you are.”

Trump has consistently appointed women to key leadership roles, including Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security, Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence, Pam Bondi as Attorney General, and Karoline Leavitt as White House press secretary. Susie Wiles, who became the first woman to serve as White House Chief of Staff, was also cited as an example.

Cooper specifically defended first lady Melania Trump, calling Behar’s comments “offensive” and out of touch.

“You’ve seen the incredible work that she has done, the books that she's written, the languages that she speaks, and the fact that she actively pushes back against him (Trump) on a daily basis, and they still have a great marriage,” the conservative commentator said.

Tensions flared on 'The View' on Wednesday as the co-hosts tore into President Donald Trump for lashing out at Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on social media, while the US remained engaged in a high-stakes diplomatic effort to contain conflict between Iran and Israel.

Ana Navarro, visibly frustrated, criticized Trump for diverting attention away from global negotiations.

“I think it is koo-koo crazy, taco loco, for Donald Trump,” she said. “In the middle of military action against Iran, trying to get Iran and Israel to the table for a peace treaty, from Air Force One en route to a NATO meeting — where he'll try to be a statesman for the world to se — he’s picking a Twitter fight like a teenage girl with AOC.”

Navarro's comments came in response to Trump’s Truth Social post late Tuesday night, in which he referred to Ocasio-Cortez as “one of the dumbest people in Congress” and challenged her to take a cognitive test, a jab he has used repeatedly against his critics.

Behar added fuel to the fire, claiming Trump’s comments stemmed from a deep discomfort with confident, outspoken women. “You know my experience with him and my observation of him is... He really doesn't like strong women. He likes obedient, dutiful women who compliment him. This type of woman really gets under his skin.”
