Amid all this, Pakistan has selected Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Islamic nation said, as per Newsweek, “The Government of Pakistan has decided to formally recommend President Donald J. Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of his decisive diplomatic intervention and pivotal leadership during the recent India-Pakistan crisis.”

Though Pakistan has credited Trump for the ceasefire, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not agree.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri reportedly said, “The discussion to cease military action took place directly between India and Pakistan through the existing channels of communication between the two armed forces, and it was initiated at Pakistan’s request.”

“Prime Minister Modi firmly stated that India does not and will never accept mediation. There is complete political consensus in India on this matter,” he added.
