Isabel Brown slams Whoopi Goldberg for being mad at her for asking women to have babies
NEW YORK, NEW YORK CITY: Conservative activist Isabel Brown criticized the co-hosts of 'The View' on Sunday, March 30, after they referenced her remarks on motherhood made at the Conservative Political Action Conference 2026.
During her speech, Brown encouraged young women to marry earlier and prioritize having children, offering perspectives on motherhood that sparked controversy with the panelists prompting strong reactions challenging the broader implications of her advice.
Isabel Brown slams 'The View' over marriage and motherhood debate
Brown posted a video on Instagram featuring snippets from the show, where she addressed the backlash directly. In the video, she said, "Never in a million years did I think the thing that people were going to freak out about was me encouraging other women to get married and have kids. But here we are, and you may have seen today the ladies of The View were pretty mad about it."
She captioned the post, "I’d like to thank the women of the view for showing their truest, darkest colors today: they’re literally shrieking like demons at the thought of encouraging young women to have children."
Continuing her response, Brown stated, "These women want you to hate happy, healthy, fulfilled young people with kids. Even more disturbingly, they want you to hate babies so much that you never want them in the first place." She also referenced a comment from Whoopi Goldberg, quoting, “You’re telling people to have as many babies as they want to? Again I’m going to send you back into the past.”
Brown emphasized her perspective, saying, "In other words, wanting a baby literally is not a choice as a so-called “empowered” woman in 2026. I find no coincidence that this week is Holy Week, and the family represents perhaps the biggest and strongest threat to evil in postmodern culture than anything else."
She concluded her remarks by urging her audience, "Again, I reiterate: HAVE THE COURAGE to get married and have a beautiful family. Your life will be better because of it. This entire segment from The View is PROPAGANDA—make no mistake about it—and it deserves a response."
Brown ended by teasing a follow-up discussion, adding, "I can’t wait to unpack it all tomorrow on the show."
'The View' responds to Isabel Brown’s CPAC comments on motherhood
During the CPAC event, Brown, a 28-year-old influencer and mother, encouraged young women to “have the courage” to get married and have children, including having “more kids than they can afford before they think they’re ready.”
She also linked personal lifestyle choices such as quitting dating apps, avoiding birth control, and marrying early to broader outcomes that could “ultimately trickle down into the political policies that we will see save our country.”
Reacting to these remarks, Whoopi expressed disbelief, referencing how similar narratives had historically targeted women of color, "Years ago they used to come after women of color and accuse women of color of doing this very thing.”
Co-host Sara Haines criticised the idea further, “My ultimate beef with this is that it wraps a woman’s worth up in her ovaries in a way that for too long has happened. The whole women’s movement was not about bucking the trend of staying at home or loving tradition. It was giving women a choice to do what they wanted.”
She continued, “They act like people are sitting around just saying yeah, ‘No, I’m good, The fact we keep putting this on women, that their only worth in society, politics, policy is if they produce a baby or have a husband is the stupidest, most old-fashioned thing.”
“The world has over 8 billion people! We no longer need to force people to procreate and pump out babies. We have arrived here. Women now and girls now have a choice,” Haines concluded.
Guest host Whitney Cummings mocked the notion that marriage requires “courage,” suggesting that such a claim raises concerns about the nature of the relationship itself. She also pointed out that Brown’s experience as a new mother may not yet reflect the full challenges of raising children.
