NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: First Lady Jill Biden and MSNBC anchor Mika Brzezinski shared plenty of conversation in an exclusive interview, where the First Lady also spoke about her son, Hunter Biden, who is currently being investigated by the GOP Oversight Committee. Hunter also recently made an appearance at a GOP-led hearing.

In the interview with Brzezinski, Jill Biden sheds light on Hunter amid the ongoing “mistreatment by the GOP,” as quoted by ‘Morning Joe.’ After this, several people on X, formerly known as Twitter, slammed both the First Lady and Hunter on the social media platform.

Jill Biden says ‘I love my son’

On ‘Morning Joe,’ MSNBC anchor Mika Brzezinski asked First Lady Jill Biden, “How have you been coping personally with the onslaught of accusations against your husband and your family, including and especially Hunter is the focus of the House Oversight Committee hearing, holding him in contempt, obsessing over him, showing pictures of him during vulnerable moments and his battle with addiction, on the floor of the house. This would crush any family.”

Jill Biden responded, “Mika, I think what they are doing to Hunter is cruel and I am really proud of how Hunter has rebuilt his life after addiction.”

She continued, “You know, I love my son and it’s hurt my grandchildren and that’s what I’m so concerned about, it’s affecting their lives as well.”

Internet reacts to Jill Biden’s remarks on X

After First Lady Jill Biden shared her grievances about the ongoing accusations against Hunter Biden and how it affected her grandchildren, the internet was unconvinced.

One user wrote, “Facts can sometimes be cruel,” and another wrote, “Ha ha how pathetic.”

“What’s being ‘done’ to Hunter is all self-inflicted.  It is not ‘cruel,’ it is justice,” expressed one user, and another user mocked and wrote, “I didn’t know she could do comedy…”

The First Lady and Hunter continued to face backlash online as one user wrote, “Hunter did it to himself, Narcissism runs deep with this bunch of grifters,” and another wrote, “Cruel, what is cruel is the fact that American public has been subjected to an over-educated, over-privileged son of a government leader who dragged us all into his seedy undistinguished, undisciplined life. Which by the way he wears like a badge of honor… and it is far from that.”
