WOODSTOCK, GEORGIA: President Joe Biden faced backlash from Laken Riley's mother on Friday, March 8, for mispronouncing her late daughter's name during his State of the Union address on Thursday.

As per a Fox News report, the 81-year-old incumbent appeared to refer to the 22-year-old nursing student from Georgia, who is suspected to have been killed by a migrant from Venezuela, as "Lincoln" rather than "Laken" during his speech.

"Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal. That’s right. But how many thousands of people are being killed by legals?" remarked the POTUS when Republican Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene shouted at him, "Say her name!", while he was discussing issues relating to the US border.

Laken Riley's mother says it's pathetic that President Joe Biden doesn't know her child's name

Laken’s mother, Allyson Phillips, supposedly wrote, "Biden does not even KNOW my child’s name – it [sic] pathetic! If you are going to say her name (even when forced to do so) at least say the right name!" in response to a Facebook post celebrating the passage of the Laken Riley Act.

The bereaved mother also said that by bringing up his son Beau's death, the president was attempting to "minimize" the murder of her child.

While visiting Eagle Pass, Texas, near the southern border in late February, former president Donald Trump remarked, "The parents are devastated, and they’re incredible people."

The 77-year-old GOP presidential frontrunner added, "This is a Joe Biden invasion. A Biden invasion. I call him crooked Joe… the most incompetent president we've ever had."

Trump continued, "A beautiful 22-year-old nursing student from Georgia was barbarically attacked. She was on a morning run… she was a beautiful young woman. I spoke to her parents yesterday. They are incredible people. They are devastated beyond belief. She was so beautiful in so many ways."

On the same day that President Biden gave a speech in another border town in Brownsville, Texas, former POTUS Trump paid a visit to the southern border of the United States.

Riley, an Augusta University nursing student, was discovered dead on the University of Georgia campus on February 22 after her roommate had alerted the authorities about her absence.

Internet lambasts President Joe Biden for botching Laken Riley’s name during his SOTU address

One remarked, "She is right. It was really offensive," and another noted, "It is pathetic. And so sad. Heart breaks for this family."

A person expressed, "biden is a disgrace and needs to be voted out!" "I was offended just imagine how her family felt. Just shameful," expressed someone else.

"Those are fitting appropriate words, he more than deserves them," an individual said about Riley's mother's reaction, and one more added, "Biden is pathetic and people voting for him are pathetic."
