Lara Trump shares insight into family Christmas traditions
The Trump family plans to celebrate Christmas once again at Mar-a-Lago. Lara Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, shared details about the family’s holiday traditions in an interview with the Daily Mail on Thursday, December 25.
When asked about their celebrations, Lara said the president and first lady typically take an annual family photo.
She also spoke about a popular tradition known as the “candy bowl,” which features full-sized candy bars. According to Lara, the family attends a church service and dinner on Christmas Eve, usually at Bethesda-by-the-Sea. She added that the candlelight vigil and traditional hymns are especially meaningful to the younger children, who know all the songs.
Lara noted that Christmas morning can be more complicated, as Santa delivers gifts to each family member’s home. After opening presents, everyone comes together to spend the rest of the day as a family.
She added that Christmas is the only time of year when the extended family gathers in one place. The holiday typically ends with a shared dinner, during which Lara prepares her chocolate peppermint trifle. “It’s always destroyed by the end of the night,” she said.
