WASHINGTON, DC: Calls to boycott Oscar de la Renta emerged after Ivanka Trump was seen in a custom gown from the designer on the eve of her father Donald Trump's inauguration.

The eldest Trump daughter radiated beauty in the couture gown adorned with pearls and crystals, which she accessorized with a silver stole for the candlelight dinner at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC, on Sunday, January 19.

Ivanka Trump and Usha Vance turn heads in Oscar de la Renta outfits

The 'Women Who Work' author was spotted mingling with Elon Musk and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos at the candlelight dinner. Earlier in the day, she attended the wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery wearing an orchid applique cashmere coat from the fashion house.

Ivanka previously donned an ivory pantsuit from Oscar de la Renta at her father's 2017 swearing-in ceremony, as per Hola! Magazine.

Incoming Vice President JD Vance and incoming Second Lady Usha Vance were also spotted at the same Sunday gathering. Interestingly, Usha picked a couture Oscar de la Renta dress for the Vice Presidential Dinner at the National Gallery of Art on Saturday, for which she faced backlash.

Oscar de la Renta, a brand established by the eponymous late Dominican fashion designer in 1965, has a long tradition of dressing first ladies, as per Daily Mail.

De la Renta, who died in 2014, gained fame when he dressed Jacqueline Kennedy. He also created iconic outfits for Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Michelle Obama.

Several netizens took to social media to bash the iconic fashion house after Ivanka Trump was seen in the jaw-dropping beaded outfit.

An X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, "Bye Oscar de la Renta. I know you won't be cancelled but you are to me, for having no f**king morals."

Another added, "Amazing how this time around designers are more than happy to showcase the fact that they're dressing the Trumps I remember last time around no one wanted to be associated with them."

Moreover, the fashion house's Instagram page was inundated with criticism for creating evening gowns for the women closest to Trump and Vance.

One Instagram user commented underneath Ivanka's image shared on the Oscar de la Renta page, "Bootlicking is never in season," while another added, "Always have loved. Sad to be done with ODLR. I don’t support brands that support fascists."

"Unfollow after maybe 8-10 years. Loved your content but this is unacceptable. Bye," one more wrote.

"I love your work….I don’t love your lack of integrity for dressing her & JD Vance’s wife….tons of celebs to choose from," another person snarked.

"Beautiful but this house is losing its reputation for me with all these maga posts," one more comment read.

One simply wrote, "Oh ok so we’re done with odlr."
