Jake Paul shrugs off Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘SNL’ jab, says it ‘doesn’t change’ his admiration
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Influencer Jake Paul has responded after singer Olivia Rodrigo referenced both their past appearance together and his boxing career during a recent monologue on ‘Saturday Night Live’ on Sunday, May 3.
Rodrigo jokingly looked back on their time together on the Disney Channel buddy-comedy ‘Bizaardvark,’ which followed two best friends trying to make it as vloggers. Paul played the daredevil character Dirk Mann during the show’s first two seasons before his exit.

Jake Paul responds to Olivia Rodrigo's SNL monologue joke
During her opening monologue, Rodrigo recalled, “When I was 13, I was on a Disney show called ‘Bizaardvark,’ and we had an incredible cast, which included acting legend Jake Paul," and added, "we’d always talk about our futures, me and Jake.”
She further said, "I’d say, ‘I really wanna create music that explores the complexities of girls my age,’ and he’d say, ‘Well, one day I really wanna beat up old guys on Netflix."
Following the broadcast, Paul responded on social media by quote-tweeting a post about the segment. Reflecting on their shared history and success, he wrote, “We had the vision … i told you that you would sell stadiums out and then we both did … proud of you fr.”
When another user suggested he may not have understood the joke, Paul clarified his stance. He acknowledged that the comment was made at his expense, responding, “I got that she was making a joke at my expense. So what. She’s on SNL and that’s what they are supposed to do.”
He then praised her, saying, “Doesn’t change my admiration of her and her success.” On Instagram, Paul also shared a throwback photo of himself with Rodrigo from the set of the sitcom, which ran for three seasons from 2016 to 2019, captioning it, “Ah the good ole days.”
The night marked Rodrigo’s hosting debut on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ as well as her third overall appearance on the show, having previously performed as a musical guest in 2021 and 2023.
Mike Tyson eyes Jake Paul rematch after knockout loss
Following Paul’s first knockout loss in his professional boxing career, boxing legend Mike Tyson has expressed interest in stepping back into the ring with him. Tyson, who previously lost to Paul via unanimous decision in their sanctioned November 2024 bout, proposed a rematch after professional boxer Anthony Joshua defeated the ‘Problem Child’ in Round 6 of Friday’s fight, which streamed live on Netflix.
Speaking to the UK’s Mirror about his upcoming March 2026 bout against Floyd Mayweather in Africa, Tyson said, “I’m getting more and more confident, and I believe I’ll be better in the fight coming up. But this fight right here, I think I’d be more adapted, because I had my other two experiences.”
During their November 15, 2024 bout, Paul outlanded Tyson, landing 78 punches to Tyson’s 18 across eight two-minute rounds. He threw 278 punches with a 28% connect rate, compared to Tyson’s 97 attempts at 18%.
A year later, Tyson appears more assured about his chances in a potential rematch, reflecting on his preparation, “I realized how to train this time, more than other times… I think I trained a little bit too intensely [for Paul], and I left most of my fight in the gym.”
He further added, “I’m just hoping, after this Floyd fight, maybe we can have a rematch, Yes, I would be interested in that.”
