Jake Sullivan slammed as he claims US did not 'participate militarily' in rescuing Israeli hostages
WASHINGTON, DC: Jake Sullivan has clarified that the US did not directly participate in the rescue operation of four Israeli hostages from the Nuseirat refugee camp on June 8.
The National Security Advisor told CNN’s ‘State of the Union’, “One thing I can say is that there were no US forces, no US boots on the ground involved in this operation. We did not participate militarily in this operation," the New York Post reports.
Jake Sullivan claimed America 'providing support’ to Israel to help hostages
Sullivan had earlier claimed the United States has been "providing support to Israel for several months in its efforts to help identify the locations of hostages in Gaza and to support efforts to try to secure their rescue or recovery. We have generally provided support to the IDF.”
Four Israelis Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv were abducted by Hamas during the October 7, 2023 attack. However, on Saturday, they were saved from two different areas in Nuseirat during the operation that allegedly claimed the lives of 236 Palestinian people and injured over 400.
Commenting on those killed, Sullivan stated, “We, the United States are not in a position today to make a definitive statement about that. We do know this … Innocent people were tragically killed in this operation.” “And that is heartbreaking. That is tragic,” he added.
Internet slams Jake Sullivan as a 'liar'
Social media users blasted Sullivan as well as the Biden administration with an X user tweeting, “It's always hard to know what's really going on behind the scenes. Governments deny stuff all the time, doesn't mean it's true or false.”

“He said Hamas could end the violence right now by accepting a credit deal He failed to specify the deal only guarantees a 6-week cessation w/ the option for Israel to extend it by continuing negotiations, that is likely stalling things until after the election to help Biden,” an individual mentioned.
