WASHINGTON, DC: Democratic strategist James Carville recently declared that President Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 presidential race is “inevitable.”

During an interview on Monday, June 8, Carville shared his foresight, saying Biden will soon come to a conclusion as Democratic pressure continues.

James Carville expressed his belief that Joe Biden will eventually decide to step aside.

“I don’t predict things, I’m just tellin’ ya, it’s inevitable. He will come to the conclusion," Carville said on News Nation.

"People will get the message to him. He will understand, his family will understand. They’ll pray on it and they’ll make the right decision," he added. 

Biden has encountered various challenges following his recent debate performance against former President Donald Trump.

His voice sounded raspy, and he stumbled over his words during the debate, raising concerns about his ability to continue leading the Democratic ticket.

Biden's withdrawal from the race should happen sooner rather than later as he won't win, Carville shared earlier.

James Carville also suggested not to jump on nominating Vice President Kamala Harris as presidential candidate. 

“We’ve got to do it out in the open — the exact opposite of what Donald Trump wants us to do,” Carville wrote in The New York Times.

“For the first time in his life, Mr Trump is praying. To win the White House and increase his chances of avoiding an orange jumpsuit," the political strategist wrote.

"He needs Democrats to make the wrong moves in the coming days — namely, to appear to rig the nomination for a fading president or the sitting vice president or some other heir apparent," Carville added.

He further explained his view on the station saying,  “When it comes to staying in the presidential race, Biden is going to come to the conclusion that this is just not a good idea," The Hill reported.

Biden and his supporters have vigorously defended his decision to remain in the race.

The president also reiterated his stance in a letter to congressional Democrats, stating, “Voters — and the voters alone — decide the nominee of the Democratic Party.”

James Carville's statements elicited a wide range of reactions on social media platforms.

One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "It's a risk. And strategists love to strategize."

Another argued, "He is not dropping out. Move on Carville. He has the delegates."

Some agreed with the Democratic strategist's assessment. One person stating, "For the sake of our democracy and the future of the Democratic party, he needs to drop out," referring to Biden.

"The Dems should have allowed a primary to properly vet a more viable candidate. At some point, you've gotta retire," the user added.

One shared concerns about the potential consequences of Biden staying in the race.  "He better, or 2025 will be a disaster for USA and the rest of the world."
