James Carville suggests 'plot twist' ahead of November election, weighs in on Harris' winning chances
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: James Carville has warned that the weeks leading up to the November presidential election could hold yet another plot twist.
Speaking to CNN's Anderson Cooper on Monday, September 23, Carville highlighted the unusual nature of this election cycle, pointing to several surprising events that have already unfolded.
James Carville says unimaginable things have happened in 2024 election cycle
James Carville said, "This entire cycle, things have happened that we couldn’t imagine," suggesting that more surprises may lie ahead.
"How many times did we start the day, start the news night, ‘Who could have thought this was going to happen?’" he continued.
The Democratic strategist was on the show to promote a new CNN documentary titled 'Carville: Winning is Everything, Stupid!'
Set to release on October 5, the film explores Carville's role in advising President Joe Biden to drop out of the race, amid concerns over Biden's electability in a fiercely contested presidential race.
With just six weeks left until Election Day on November 5, he noted that the 2024 election race is entering its final and most intense phase.
"Something tells me something else is going to happen, I don't know what it is. But the idea we’ve got 42 days to go, six weeks," said Carville.
"This is a sprint to the finish. I think there’s another plot twist coming here," he continued.
"I'm just not good enough to tell you what it is," the political consultant added.
James Carville's warnings for Joe Biden and predictions for Kamala Harris
James Carville has been vocal about his concerns for President Joe Biden’s chances of winning in the November election, particularly before he stepped aside and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the frontrunner on the Democratic ticket.
Despite his earlier skepticism about Biden's election campaign, he now believes Harris is in a strong position to win the presidential race.
"I don’t like to predict elections. I would just say, this just doesn’t feel like a race that Harris is going to lose," said Carville.
"It’s close in the polls, and I’m not convinced that it’s going to be close on Election Day," he added, according to The Hill.
Carville, who was an ex-advisor for former president Bill Clinton and served as a mastermind for Clinton's 1992 election against George HW Bush said, “I’ll say this: If there’s seven swing states, the least, most least likely scenario is that it breaks 4-3.”
