CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland had an embarrassing moment during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Monday, August 19, as he froze on the stage when his teleprompter appeared to fail him.

The four-day convention in Chicago commenced on Monday, a month after President Joe Biden ended his reelection campaign in July after a growing number of Democrats questioned the president's ability to handle duties for another tenure, according to CBS News

Jamie Raskin delivered a line during his speech that was intended to criticize GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, according to Gateway Pundit.

He said, "Someone should have told Donald Trump that the president’s job under Article two of the Constitution…" and then paused awkwardly.

He then tried to regain his composure and stumbled through the rest of the line saying, "Someone should have told Donald Trump that the president’s job under Article Two of the Constitution is to take care that the laws are faithfully executed."

Raskin also gave misinformation about January 6 saying, "Five people died that day."

He added, "We fight to defend our democracy and freedom against the banana Republicans who converted Lincoln’s party into a dangerous cult of personality."

He also ended up commenting on the assassination attempt on Trump saying, "JD Vance, do you understand why there was a sudden job opening for running mate on the GOP ticket? They tried to kill your predecessor!"

Jamie Raskin minced no words in hitting out against Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance. He called Trump a "con man" and added that his running mate JD Vance is his "pet chameleon", according to The Hill.

He also called out Trump for not accepting defeat in the 2020 election and condemned the events of January 6, 2021. He said the riots at the US Capitol occurred after Trump lost to Biden.

"I will never forget the pounding on the doors of the House chamber on January 6. Hundreds of our police officers were taunted and attacked. One forty of them wounded extremists wielding baseball bats, steel pipes, and even American flags. All this after Trump was defeated by more than 7 million votes by the great Joe Biden."

He went on to say that this happened after 80 judges rejected every claim raised by Trump who "does not know how to take no for an answer by the American voters, American courts or American women".

He said, "Friends, are we the people, going to let Donald Trump terminate our constitution and obliterate the blessings of liberty for our prosperity? That's right, we're going to elect Kamala Harris. We are going to elect a career prosecutor and an inspiring public servant. We are going to defeat Donald Trump."

One mentioned, "Their whole platform is Trump Derangement Syndrome. They have absolutely nothing to run on that’s positive."

A user wrote, "The constitution that he swore an oath to protect, but doesn’t even know it apparently."
