WASHINGTON, DC: JD Vance has said that he’s "of course concerned about” US readiness amid the Iran war, which has been ongoing for months. However, he also slammed a report by The Atlantic that claimed the vice president doubted the Pentagon’s depiction of the war.

The politician appeared on ‘The Will Cain Show’ on Fox News on Wednesday, April 29, where he was questioned about the report, ‘The Pentagon May Not Be Telling Trump the Full Picture About the War’, which claimed that “two senior administration officials told us that the vice president has queried the accuracy of the information the Pentagon has provided about the war.”

JD Vance denies doubting Pentagon report

“In closed-door meetings JD Vance has repeatedly questioned the Defense Department's depiction of the war in Iran and whether the Pentagon understated what appears to be the drastic depletion of US missile stockpiles,” Cain said while reading part of the report.

The conservative political analyst then asked Vance if he’s “concerned on this front about our missile stockpiles?”

“Most of these reports I ignore. This one I actually read because it ascribed views to me and things that I allegedly said that I am just 100% certain that I have never said,” the Republican Party member replied.

JD Vance says no close aides spoke to reporter

Explaining further, Vance noted that “there is a lot in that story, Will, and you know how this game works, that is attributed to people who describe themselves as ‘Vance advisors.’”

“And you know, a Vance advisor could be a staff member I see every single day, it could also be a random person off the street that I talked to once at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” he stated, before adding, “Nobody who actually knows what I think, nobody who's close to me, was speaking to that reporter, because if they did, then it would have been a totally different story.”

JD Vance praises Pete Hegseth, General Dan Caine

Vance, however, noted that he’s “of course concerned about our readiness, because that’s my job to be concerned.”

“But I think that Pete Hegseth, our Department of War secretary, I think General Caine, our chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, are doing an amazing job. But of course it’s my job to ask these questions, it’s of course my job to make sure we’re on top of every issue. And of course it’s the president’s job, too,” he asserted.

Vance also claimed that he, along with Donald Trump, “are very focused on that. But we have a great military, a military that can do a lot, Will, so don’t believe everything you read, especially in papers like The Atlantic.”
