JD Vance mocks Kamala Harris as he compares her 'tough interviews' to Tim Walz's 'battlefield deployments'
WASHINGTON, DC: GOP Vice Presidential pick JD Vance slammed Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz during multiple Sunday morning news shows and compared her 'interviews' with Walz's 'battlefield deployments'.
Vance was nominated as Donald Trump's running mate in July whereas Kamala Harris replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic contender after he stepped down from the Presidential race last month, according to The Hill.
JD Vance slams Harris and Walz during Sunday morning shows
Vance slammed Harris for her lack of media availability since she became the Democratic party’s presumptive nominee for president while he ripped Walz for his military record. Vance gave interviews on Sunday, August 11, to CNN’s 'State of the Union', ABC’s 'This Week', and CBS’ 'Face the Nation'.
Vance also wrote on social media, "I enjoyed sitting down with three of the major networks today to answer the tough questions any leader should answer. Kamala Harris has done as many tough interviews as Tim Walz has battlefield deployments."

During his CNN interview, host Dana Bash said Donald Trump "received a medical draft deferment for bone spurs to avoid serving in the Vietnam War" and asked him if he found that "shameful".
Vance replied while taking a jab at Walz, "I think that Donald Trump didn’t serve in the military, but he didn’t lie about it."
Bash: People have called you weird. It has taken off. When Trump was asked about it, he said ‘Not me. They’re talking about JD.’

Many Republicans including Vance have claimed that Walz’s 2005 retirement was to avoid a deployment to Iraq, though he submitted his paperwork to run for Congress and retire from the National Guard a month before his unit was informed of an impending Iraq deployment, according to The Hill.
Vance: This is a fundamentally fake person

Bash: With respect, you changed your position on an important thing, Donald Trump
Vance: Of course I did!
Bash: So why are you not a chameleon? pic.twitter.com/89nJe5Y7gp
However, Walz never served in a combat zone during his Guard service.
The Harris campaign has earlier denounced the attacks on Walz’s service record in a statement to the Associated Press.
They wrote, "After 24 years of military service, Governor Walz retired in 2005 and ran for Congress, where he chaired Veterans Affairs and was a tireless advocate for our men and women in uniform — and as Vice President of the United States he will continue to be a relentless champion for our veterans and military families."
JD Vance: I don't think anybody could look at the conduct of Donald Trump and say this is a person who's somehow antisemitic

Vance has also taken jibes at Harris during a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson which resurfaced recently. In that interview, he called Harris a 'childless cat lady', and claimed that she was 'miserable' and lacked a direct stake in the country's future due to not being a mother.
