WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President JD Vance is settling into his new official residence with Second Lady Usha Vance and their three children, Fox News reported on Saturday, January 25.

The second family came into the spotlight on January 20, the inauguration day of President Donald Trump. Vance and his wife Usha brought along their three children to the official event, Ewan, 7, Vivek, 4, and Mirabel, 3.



 

JD Vance promises to 'take good care' of his new residence

Taking to X on Thursday, January 23, JD Vance updated his followers about having moved into the official vice president's residence, which was until recently occupied by his predecessor Kamala Harris.

"My kids are settling in to the Vice President's official residence, and I just want to say: thank you to the American people," Vance wrote. "While we don't own this property, it is a beautiful home for our three little kids. We are grateful, and will take good care of it," he added.

Inside JD Vance's new three-story official residence

According to the publication, JD, 40, and Usha, 39, are the first family to live at the Vice President's official residence with children since Al and Tipper Gore in 1993.

The sprawling property is situated at the US Naval Observatory in Washington. It is nearly two miles in distance from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue (White House) in Northwest DC, according to reports. The mansion at Number One Observatory Circle spreads across 9,000 sqft of area.

The three-story home with 33 rooms was built in 1893 and sits on a 73-acre plot with forest-like cover. The house has allocated space for both private life and public events and comes with a sunlit solarium, a heated outdoor pool, and a library.

Netizens, especially JD Vance's supporters, congratulated the Vice President upon taking over his official residence.

"We know you and Usha will be wonderful stewards of the stately home. May you both and your children make many wonderful memories together there," wrote a social media user.
