PHOENIX, ARIZONA: Vice President JD Vance took a jab at Democratic Rep Jasmine Crockett during Turning Point USA's America Fest 2025 and said that her "street girl persona" is "about as real as her nails!"
Crockett, a progressive Democrat representing a Dallas-area district, filed the required paperwork to run for the Senate seat on December 8, the deadline for candidates to officially enter the race.
JD Vance says Jasmine Crockett's record 'speaks for itself'
Speaking to the crowd in Phoenix, Arizona, JD Vance said, "And Jasmine Crockett, oh Jasmine Crockett," which was followed by a loud boo from the crowd.
The vice president noted, "The record speaks for itself," while adding, "She wants to be a Senator, though her street girl persona is about as real as her nails!"
His statement received a loud cheer from the crowd at the Turning Point USA event.
Vance's statement comes following the congresswoman's dig at President Donald Trump earlier in December. During a CNN appearance on December 13, Crockett said many House Republicans were unwilling to support Democratic-backed measures because they were more afraid of Trump than of their own constituents.
She cited examples of Republican leaders declining to back extensions or compromises supported by Democrats, pointing specifically to comments made by Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The Democratic Rep said Greene appeared to believe she "just could not be on the opposite side" of Trump, adding that Greene raised several concerns about why doing so would be "problematic," including personal risk.
Crockett described what she called a “consistent trend” among Republican leaders who avoid opposing the POTUS, calling the situation "really unfortunate."
JD Vance says 'America First' movement embraces free thinkers
Vance called for unity during Turning Point USA’s first convention since founder Charlie Kirk’s death. He said the "America First" movement welcomes Americans of all backgrounds who love the country.
He also dismissed conservative infighting over foreign policy, rejected ideological "purity tests," and criticized Democrats and progressive policies.

The vice president also told the AmericaFest 2025 audience that "people of every faith come to our banner because they know that the America First movement will make our lives better."
He further criticized Democrats’ priorities and addressed divisions among conservatives over issues such as Israel and Ukraine. He said, "President Trump did not build the greatest coalition in politics by running his supporters through endless, self-defeating purity tests."
"We don't care if you're White or Black, rich or poor, young or old, rural or urban, controversial or a little bit boring, or somewhere in between," Vance emphasized, adding, "And they also know that the Democrats don't care about anything other than maybe trans-ing their kids."
He said, "So if you love America, if you want all of us to be richer, stronger, safer, and prouder, you have a home on this team."
