CANTON, OHIO: Vice President JD Vance on Monday, July 25, strongly defended President Donald Trump’s approach to the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein controversy, declaring the administration has “nothing to hide” while taking sharp aim at previous presidencies for what he called two decades of neglect and secrecy.

Speaking in Canton, Ohio during an event promoting the newly enacted “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” Vance claimed Trump has taken unprecedented steps to be transparent about Epstein’s criminal network and any government failures tied to it.

JD Vance insists Trump is being ‘transparent’ on Epstein

“The president has been very clear,” Vance said. “We’re not shielding anything. The president has directed the attorney general to release all credible information and, frankly, to go and find additional credible information related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.”

Vance addressed reporters saying, “He’s been incredibly transparent about that stuff. But some of that stuff takes time.”

Vance joined other senior officials in highlighting the importance of protecting the identities of victims amid any forthcoming revelations related to Jeffrey Epstein, who was discovered dead in his Manhattan jail cell on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

Vance didn’t stop at defending the current administration but he also launched a direct attack on Presidents George W Bush and Barack Obama, accusing their Justice Departments of failing to act decisively during the years Epstein’s behavior allegedly continued unchecked.

“For 20 years, you had Obama and George W Bush’s Department of Justice go easy on this guy. They didn’t fully investigate the case,” Vance said. “They didn’t show any curiosity about the case, and now Donald J. Trump is asking his Department of Justice to show full transparency.”

“If you want to criticize the people who aren’t showing full transparency, you ought to go after the administrations that went easy on Jeffrey Epstein, the administrations that concealed this case for 20 years, and the administrations that failed to show full transparency,” he added.

The vice president’s comments come amid intensifying scrutiny of the 2007 plea deal negotiated by then-US Attorney Alex Acosta, which allowed Epstein to avoid federal charges by pleading guilty to lesser state crimes. Acosta would later become Trump’s Labor Secretary before resigning in 2019 following public backlash over the deal.

“Donald J Trump, I’m telling you, he’s got nothing to hide,” Vance said. “His administration has got nothing to hide, and that’s why he’s been an advocate for full transparency in this case.”

Vance’s remarks follow the release of a July 6 Justice Department memo that reaffirmed the conclusion Epstein died by suicide and reiterated that investigators found no “client list,” despite persistent conspiracy theories to the contrary.

Trump has recently lashed out at supporters and critics alike who continue to believe what he terms the “Jeffrey Epstein hoax,” accusing Democrats of weaponizing the case for political purposes.

Vice President JD Vance’s emphatic defense of President Donald Trump in the Jeffrey Epstein case has sparked a wave of heated reactions online.

Public reaction on social media ranged from deeply cynical to outright mocking.

“This is what you call a blatant lie,” one user wrote bluntly.

“Understandable, but how much more time is needed? The files have been on Bondi’s desk for months,” another questioned.

“It’s already been forever. I am not sure why more time is needed,” added another.

Others attacked the credibility of the statement and Vance himself.

“Vance would say Don is a girl if Don told him to. Vance is a robot. Someone needs to see if he even breathes. He’s programmed to only support Don,” one user joked.

“Trump isn’t the guy we thought we elected,” another lamented.

Some suggested the “transparency” claim was misleading. “Nothing more to hide now that it has all been hidden,” a user wrote dryly.

“This defense makes no sense given everything that has been said by Pam, Kash, Dan, and Trump. It is a glorious mess that somehow they are buying time to reframe and get people to forget the cover-up — as ordered by the DC Cartel run by Israel apparently,” one comment read.
