OXON HILL, MARYLAND: At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Vice President JD Vance took aim at what he described as America's "broken culture," accusing it of attempting to mold people into "androgynous idiots".

In a heated sit-down with Mercedes Schlapp on Thursday, February 20, Vance criticized the culture for pressuring young men to "suppress every masculine urge".

JD Vance went on to tell the audience that they should not let this "broken culture" define them for enjoying simple pleasures like telling jokes, having a beer with friends, or being competitive. The crowd responded with audible praise, signaling their support for Vance's remarked, according to Mediaite.

"I think that our culture sends a message to young men that you should suppress every masculine urge. You should you should try to cast aside your family. You should try to suppress what makes you a young man in the first place," Vance said.

He added, "And I think that my message to young men is don’t allow this broken culture to send you a message that you’re a bad person because you’re a man, because you like to tell a joke, because you like to have a beer with your friends or because you’re competitive."

The vice president's remarks were not limited to just men, as he continued to express his dissatisfaction with the broader cultural message. Vance argued that the prevailing culture seeks to turn everyone—regardless of gender—into "androgynous idiots who think the same, talk the same and act the same".

"The cultural message — and I think the president’s and mine is the exact opposite –but our cultural message is I think that it wants to turn everybody in, whether male or female, into androgynous idiots who think the same, talk the same and act the same," Vance remarked.

He concluded his criticism by emphasizing his belief in the natural distinctions between men and women, highlighting the importance of thriving in their respective roles.

He went on to say, "We actually think God made male and female for a purpose. And we want you guys to thrive as young men and as young women. And we’re going to help with our public policy to make it possible to do that."

JD Vance's remarks on 'broken culture' and suppressing the masculine urge spark mixed reactions

JD Vance’s recent viral remarks on masculinity have generated a variety of reactions online, with supporters praising his stance, while some critics questioned his views.

A user said, "JD Vance was definitely the right man for the VP job."

Another added, "JD Vance is great man. America is so fortunate President Trump selected him as VP."

One remarked, "Vance is just phenomenal. He speaks from his heart and does it perfectly."

"Well Said VP Vance! We shouldn't even need to have conversations like this IF people used common sense!" said a supporter.

A person remarked, "Finally, someone telling young men it's okay to be men. Stop trying to erase individuality for the sake of conformity."

On the other hand, some users were critical of Vance's remarks, arguing that the concerns about masculinity and the so-called culture war were exaggerated.

A comment read, "Fighting a culture war that doesn't exist. Nobody is stopping men from being men. All made up stories by the right wing media to sell adverts."

An X user stated, "Y'all are painfully weak. I guess every woman in your life is either too submissive or too scared to tell you just how pathetic you and your little cult really are."

Another chimed in, "I think I hate JD vance more than trump."
