JD Vance warns NFL against ‘Super Bowl wedding’ for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift: ‘Got to be fair'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have become one of the most talked-about couples in the sports and entertainment worlds.
Their engagement, announced on social media earlier this week, has sent fans and media into a frenzy. Now, some worry that the league could take things further, given Kelce’s high-profile relationship with Swift.
JD Vance warns NFL against favoritism
Vice President JD Vance told USA Today that he is concerned the NFL might adjust its rules to benefit the Kansas City Chiefs because of Travis Kelce’s engagement to Taylor Swift.
“I will say, as a football fan, as a Cincinnati Bengals fan,” Vance said, “I hope that the NFL does not put a thumb on the scale for the Kansas City Chiefs just because Travis Kelce is now getting married to maybe the most famous woman in the world.”
Vance also warned about the possibility of a “Super Bowl wedding” spectacle for the couple.
"You guys can't sort of have this, I'm worried they're going to have a Super Bowl wedding thing this season," Vance added.
"Can't do it. The Kansas City Chiefs have to follow the same rules as everybody else," he said.
JD Vance points out NFL 'bias' from referees
The vice president expressed concern about possible bias from referees in favor of the Chiefs. "So if we see the refs being particularly friendly to Kansas City Chiefs players, then I think all football fans should be willing to push back on the NFL and say, look, you guys got to be fair," he said.

Vance continued, "Just because Travis is getting married to Taylor, you still can't put your thumb on the scale for the Kansas City Chiefs," he said.
