LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jeremy Renner has yet again spoken about his near-death experience in a snowplow accident last year, but this time he opened up about how it changed his perspective on life and death.

The 'Hawkeye' star shared his thoughts on death in an interview with James Corden on his podcast 'This Life of Mine', according to Entertainment Tonight.

Jeremy Renner says 'I’m kind of excited for death'

Renner revealed that he was never afraid of death, but now he is even more fearless and curious about it.

“I was never afraid, mind you, of death prior,” he said, adding “Now, I’m really not afraid of it. Now, I’m double downing. Now, I’m kind of excited for it.”

He explained that he believes that life on earth is meaningless and that death is the true essence of existence. “To be honest, it’s what life really is,” he continued.

“This rock that we’re spinning on and this body and this language that we’re speaking and all these feelings and emotions and conflict is all horses***. It’s meaningless in the scheme of things,” he added.

Jeremy Renner’s snowplow accident left him with multiple injuries and 30 broken bones

Renner’s brush with death occurred on New Year's Day in January 2023, when he was involved in a snowplow accident in Nevada.

The accident left him with severe injuries, including eight broken ribs, a broken right knee, ankle, left leg, tibia, left ankle and right shoulder.

He also suffered a collapsed lung, punctured liver, broken jaw and issues with his eye. “I wasn’t going to come back from death,” he said, adding “which I thought was glorious, by the way.”

He described his experience of fading out of consciousness as peaceful and blissful. “You kind of fade,” he reflected. “I don’t know if it’s fading into consciousness or just fading out of like heart stoppage. All life was grand. All life just got better. It’s an energetic thing. There’s no time, place or space, or color or anything. It’s just a known peace,” he further explained.

Jeremy Renner’s recovery journey and gratitude

Renner has been recovering from his injuries since the accident, but he admitted that it’s a long and challenging process.

He said that he has tried every type of therapy possible, from physical therapy to peptide injections to stem cell and exosomes.

He wrote in a November 2023 Instagram post, “I have been exploring EVERY type of therapy since January 14. Everyday, countless hours of physical therapy, peptide injections, iv drips and pushes, stem cell and exosomes, red light / IR therapy, hyperbaric chamber 2.0 atmospheres, cold plunge, and the list goes on and on.”

However, he said that the most effective therapy for him has been his mind and his will to live and heal. “My greatest therapy has been my mind and the will to be here and push to recover and be better…. Be exceptional…” he continued.

“I feel it’s my duty to do so. Not to squander my life being spared, but to give back to my family, friends, and all of you whom have empowered me to endure. I thank you all. #loveandtitanium,” Renner stated.
