WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News host Jesse Watters on Monday, October 20 slammed participants of the nationwide “No Kings” protests against President Donald Trump, revealing that his own mother was among the demonstrators. Millions of people across 2,700 cities marched over the weekend, holding signs criticizing Trump’s “king-like tendencies.”

Watters expressed disbelief on 'The Five' about his mother, Anne Purvis, a staunch Democrat and child psychologist, taking part. “I know my mom was there,” he said. “Can you believe my mom was there? Sometimes I think I was adopted.”

The conservative host downplayed the protests’ significance and mocked participants, claiming many had little understanding of why they were marching. “I mean, some of them do, like my mom knew, but if you stick a mic in front of their face, they have no clue. They’re just kind of walking around,” he said.

He added that these protests follow a recurring liberal pattern: “They do these things, the Women’s March, BLM, the Musk stuff. The issues change but the one thing that stays the same is Trump… They’ve lost all power in Washington, and they’ve lost their minds.”

Organizers estimated that roughly seven million people took part in the demonstrations nationwide, carrying signs like “For the Epsteinth time… No Kings,” “He’s more burger than king,” and “Impeach Trump again.”

Research from American University found that nearly 90 percent of attendees identified with the left, with the typical participant being an educated white woman in her 40s.

In DC, protesters marched down Pennsylvania Avenue NW, drawing attention to Trump amid controversies, including the ongoing Epstein files.

Watters’ revelations highlight long-standing political tension within his own family. Purvis has frequently criticized her son’s political views, even phoning into his show in 2023 to urge him to “be kind and respectful” and avoid conspiracy theories.

She also sent texts in 2017, warning, “Oh my goodness! And you actually believe Trump is not divisive!!! You’ve been swallowed by semantic quicksand!!! Humility helps; character counts. Think about that, Jesse.”

Watters previously shared that family gatherings have been strained over political differences, noting that his mother did not invite him to Thanksgiving last year due to a “scheduling situation” and limited space. However, she later attempted to include him for Black Friday.
