WASHINGTON, DC: Jesse Watters drew a sharp rebuke from his co-host Jeanine Pirro on the Monday, August 26, episode of the Fox News show 'The Five', for making a sexually suggestive comment about Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.

The distasteful remarks came as Watters shared his presumptions about Harris performing the duties of the commander-if-chief if she wins the general election in November.

According to Mediaite, the week marks the third anniversary of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. Incumbent Joe Biden has faced harsh criticism over the lives lost during the process, which included two suicide bombers killing 13 US troopers and around 170 Afghans. The Vice President has recently been slammed by Republicans for claiming she was “the last person” in the room when Biden gave the evacuation order.

Jesse Watter's comments on the show

Jesse Watters went after Kamala Harris' stance on foreign policy after blaming her for related actions undertaken by the Biden administration.

"She was the last in the (Situation) Room (on) Afghanistan, she was the border czar, and she was the deciding vote on trillions in inflationary spending. On those three most popular Joe Biden items, she’s basically like a conjoined twin. You cannot separate the two," said the anchor, before pivoting, "What is her foreign policy? This is where the president has his most impact."

"You have a lot of room to maneuver there as commander-in-chief. We don’t know who she is. We don’t know what she believes. She’s gonna get paralyzed in the Situation Room while the generals have their way with her. Right now...” he continued but was interjected by his female co-hosts.

“Jesse Watters,” called out Dana Perino, as Pirro grimly stated, "Oooh, Jesse, I don’t like that. Take it back.”

However, Watters looked far from apologetic after being called out on air, as he continued with a smirk, "Have their way with her! Control her! Not in a sexual way.”

Internet shreds Jesse Watters over his remark

Netizens reacting on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) were disgusted by Jesse Watters' jibe and called upon him to be fired from the network. The following tweets demonstrate the prevalent sentiment.

"He's absolutely revolting. This is shameless. He should be fired," wrote a person.

"So creepy and gross- dude is like the poster boy for ‘cover your drinks,’" slammed another.

"He's such a freak. Didn't think it was possible, but Fox reached a new low with Jesse Watters," stated one user.

"This is beyond a mistake. He clearly meant to say that, and gave that stupid smirk after. Watters should be fired for this, but since it's Fox, he will likely get a promotion," expressed a user.

"This isn't journalism; it's a disgraceful spectacle dressed up as news, pandering to the lowest common denominator while pretending to offer legitimate discourse. It’s an embarrassment to the profession and a disservice to the public," expressed someone else.

"Let's not mince words. He's seriously stoking oval office r**e fantasy! This cannot stand without a response from Fox," posted one individual.

"Imagine what they say off air," shared yet another.
