NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Eli Tsives, a student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), joined the co-hosts to talk about the local Jewish community organizing to break up the ongoing anti-Israel protest on their campus, on Wednesday, May 1 episode of 'Fox & Friends'.

The 'counter-protesters' reportedly attempted to dismantle a pro-Palestinian encampment on the UCLA campus from late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. Before the arrival of law enforcement to control the situation, fights broke out between the two groups which led to the explosion of fireworks and throwing of projectiles.

Eli Tsives comments on counter-protests

Tsives, who had previously spoken to 'Fox & Friends' after being blocked from attending class by anti-Israel protesters, told the co-hosts, "The reason why this is happening is because Jews in LA have had enough."

"They've seen how these pro-Hamas protesters are treating Jewish students on campus, and they said, 'Fine, if the UCLA administration is not going to do anything, if LAPD is not going to do anything, we're going to do something about it."

Insisting that the counter-protesters were members of the local community and not students of UCLA, he shared, "The average age of those people was around, 26 (through) 29. They were all a lot older and, they were just, LA residents, Jewish LA residents that have noticed how these pro-Hamas protesters are treating Jewish students at UCLA, and they said, ‘Enough is enough'."

"They said the main reason they were doing this was to attract police," he added. "They said they wanted L.A. police to arrive, so they could finally go inside the encampment and start making arrests."

However, Tsives claimed to be an advocate of peace himself and did not wish to engage with the mob himself.
