LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel didn’t hold back when addressing former president Donald Trump’s recent barrage of attacks against President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump’s inflammatory comments over the weekend, in which he called both Biden and Harris "mentally impaired" and "mentally disabled," sparked backlash, especially in light of his recent call to tone down the rhetoric following two assassination attempts.

Kimmel, ever the quick-witted commentator, wasted no time dissecting Trump's words and exposing yet another one of the former president’s glaring contradictions, as per HuffPost.

During his show, Jimmy Kimmel pointed out the irony in Donald Trump’s remarks and his history of inflammatory language.

"What a lovely individual he is," Kimmel quipped. He then added, “"You’d think he’d be more sensitive considering he has two sons who are mentally impaired."

This jab was aimed at Trump’s hypocrisy, as Kimmel noted that Trump seems to lack empathy while being quick to make personal attacks.

Kimmel went on to say that Trump appears to be "flailing" as the political landscape grows more intense.

Over the weekend, Trump made a number of statements that Kimmel categorized as "crazy stuff," one of which was an easily debunked lie about his public speaking abilities.

While attacking Vice President Harris for using a teleprompter, Trump boasted about his own speaking skills, stating: "Isn’t it nice to have a president that doesn’t need a teleprompter?"

Kimmel, sensing an easy opportunity, played the footage from Trump’s recent rally, where the former president was caught reading from not one, but two teleprompters.

"Only Donald Trump would say he doesn’t need a teleprompter while reading off two teleprompters," Kimmel mocked, circling the devices on-screen for his audience to see.

Attacks on Kamala Harris have been a recurring theme in Donald Trump’s speeches

During a recent rally in Pennsylvania, Donald Trump called for Kamala Harris to be "impeached and prosecuted" over what he described as her failures at the southern US border, as per NBC News.

"People were murdered because of her actions at the border, and thousands more will follow in rapid succession," Trump claimed, adding that Harris "should be impeached and prosecuted."

These attacks on Harris have been a recurring theme in Trump’s speeches, particularly as the 2024 presidential campaign heats up.

With Harris potentially at the top of the Democratic ticket, Trump has seized the opportunity to escalate his rhetoric against her, often veering into personal territory.

His critiques frequently highlight her race and gender, a tactic that has drawn criticism from political analysts and opponents.

Moreover, Trump’s threats have extended beyond Harris.

In recent months, he has also targeted other political adversaries, hinting at possible retaliatory actions if he were to return to the White House.

This includes threats to jail Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, as well as pursuing legal action against election officials, donors, and political operatives who were involved in the 2020 election, which Trump falsely claims was rigged.

While these threats have alarmed many, they play into Trump’s broader narrative of taking down the so-called "deep state" and holding those he deems responsible for his electoral defeat accountable.

This rhetoric has resonated with his base, fueling calls for a more aggressive approach toward perceived political enemies.
