VALDOSTA, GEORGIA: Donald Trump made a stop in Hurricane Helene hit city Valdosta, Georgia.

On Monday, September 30, the former president surveyed the damage from the storm and also offered aid to the residents.

Donald Trump held back on making political comments during his Valdosta visit. "We're not talking about politics now," he said. 

During his public statement at Valdosta, Trump said, "We do need some help from the federal government."

Though, he remarked that Georgia governor tried but failed to reach Joe Biden, earlier Brian Kemp shared that he had a conversation with the 46th president, reported USA Today.



 

Kemp told reporters, "The President just called me yesterday afternoon.  And he just said ‘hey, what do you need?’" He offered that if there's other things we need, just to call him directly, which, I appreciate that."

Trump, during his public address, also joked about being able to bring furniture. "I would have bought some furniture, if you had some in there. It's called an hour of need," he said.

The former president further said, "You're in our prayers. We have to all get together and get this solved."

Internet slams Kamala Harris' absence amid Donald Trump's visit to Georgia 

Netizens reacted to Donald Trump visiting Hurricane Helene--hit area and also shared their thoughts on Biden-Harris absence. 

A person said on X, "Kamala and Biden would never do this."

"She will be there soon now that Trump went. But right now she’s eating Doritos," an individual wrote.

"We all knew Trump would show up. He REALLY cares," another said. 

A user trolled Harris, "She's coming up- with a new "Word of the Day". Holistic is all used up."

"This is what you call a true president, caring about the fellow American!" /an individual shared. 

"The People’s President 🙏🏼❤️🇺🇸 Thank you @realDonaldTrump for always putting the American people first.. Praying for all the families effected by this. 😞💔🙏🏼" another wrote.
