LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: President Joe Biden seemingly froze on stage after his speech at the star-studded Hollywood fundraiser on the night of Saturday, June 15, reported the Daily Mail.

According to the publication, former President Barack Obama came to the aid of the incumbent, taking him by the arm and accompanying him off the stage. The moment was captured on video and shared over social media platforms.

Biden's fundraiser gaffe

A user uploaded the video on X (formerly Twitter) where Biden and Obama are seen standing and waving on stage in the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, where the crowd was giving them a standing ovation after their address.

The President returns the applause and gives the audience a thumbs up, following which he stands motionless, staring over the crowd for several long seconds. Obama, continuing to smile and wave, proceeds to take Biden by the wrist at the moment and gently tugs him to snap out of the apparent trance.

His effort succeeds, as Biden accompanies his former boss off the stage, with the latter keeping his hand on Biden's shoulder and talking to him on the way out.

The two were followed by late-night show host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who moderated their conversation for the evening. The fundraiser also had stars such as George Clooney and Julia Roberts in attendance, and raked in more than $30 million, according to NBC News.

Similar gaffes by President Biden

Biden's frequent public gaffes are facing increasing scrutiny as he seeks reelection in November.

During the Juneteenth celebration at the White House, the incumbent was seen staring off as other attendees danced around him to music. The video of the incident went viral online, and further concerns were raised after Biden slurred a few words during his speech at the event.

During the G7 meeting earlier this month in Italy, a video showed Biden walking away from other world leaders while viewing a skydiving demonstration and giving a thumbs up in the other direction. He was brought back into the fold by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who tapped him on the shoulder.

Internet expresses concern for Biden

Responding to the news on the Daily Mail website, a person wrote, "Irrespective of your political beliefs, this is non-partisan and sad to witness. The decline, whatever it is, is getting worse and I don't see how it can continue to be denied or not acknowledged."

"Biden should have said he was retiring after one term. He might have got through to the end of it with a bit of dignity left. If he is reelected I cannot see him being able to serve another 4 years," stated another.

"The Puppet and the Puppet Master," jibed a third at Biden and Obama. "So sad he is being dragged out to perform when he all he needs a quiet comfortable place to live out his life. what does it say about those in power and behind the scenes, it says they are all complicit in this and show little or no human compassion. Not the leaders I would want."

"Biden might not even understand what he is at this point. He's just there to read whatever is given to him by those who are really running this country," remarked a fourth.

"Obama directing president biden's actions by the hand. Checks out. It may be the most accurate display of this administration i have seen in all the biden years," commented a fifth.
