WASHINGTON, DC: Joe Biden, 81, has apparently turned his sights toward Hollywood for post-presidency employment.

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the commander-in-chief hosted notable members of the Latino community at the White House on Wednesday, September 18, and during the event the 81-year-old made a surprising request to actress-turned-entrepreneur Jessica Alba, asking if she could offer him a job once his time in office ends.

As the 'Fantastic Four' star and founder of The Honest Company introduced Joe Biden to the audience, the president praised Jessica Alba for her business acumen, marveling at how she became the youngest Latina to ever take a company public and build a billion-dollar business.

Earlier this year, the 43-year-old stepped down from her role as chief creative officer of the digital-first consumer goods company she founded a decade ago, though the actress continues to serve on its board.

"Jessica, if I’m really good, maybe you can get me a job when this is all over," quipped Biden, drawing laughter from the crowd gathered in the East Room. He exclaimed, "God love you," to show his admiration for the 'Honey' star.

The event took a few more odd turns when Joe Biden expressed his regret for not learning to speak Spanish fluently. "You’re gonna have time now!" shouted a guest, to which the president swiftly responded, "I do. I am."

He went on to recall his failed attempts to speak French during his career and shared an amusing memory of mangling a speech in Spanish during the 1980 census. "I tried to speak French early on in my career in France and they just laughed at me," shared Biden.

The president added, "I tried to speak - we had the largest influx of Hispanics in the 1980 census as any state in the union as a percentage. And I get up and I made a speech in Spanish. I mangled it. And they all cheered and said thank you," as per Daily Mail

Joe Biden calls political opponents 'close-minded'

President Joe Biden took a more serious tone as he addressed the political divide plaguing the nation, saying that "the other team doesn't see the world like we see it."

He remarked, "They don't have the same attitude we have. They are the most close-minded people I've ever dealt with."

But, ever the optimist, Biden wrapped it up with a joke, noting that while he appears to be 40 years old, he is actually a "lot older."

He also utilized the moment to express his gratitude for Vice President Kamala Harris’ upbeat attitude—perhaps hinting that his final months in office will be anything but dull. "That's why I'm so happy about Kamala being upbeat about what's happening."
