LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jessica Alba recently took on a deeply personal renovation project that brought her father, Mark Alba, to tears.

In the first part of her new series shared on her YouTube channel, the actress surprised her parents by revealing that she had purchased her father’s childhood home and was in the process of renovating it.

The 43-year-old's heartfelt gesture was driven by a desire to honor her late grandfather's legacy and provide her parents with a meaningful connection to their past.

The touching moment occurred at the end of a 10-minute video where Jessica Alba brought her father, Mark Alba, to the construction site of his childhood home.

Standing on the property that once belonged to his parents, Mark was overwhelmed with emotion as his daughter revealed the house was now his. In tears, Mark embraced Jessica and the construction crew, expressing his gratitude for this unexpected gift.

The 'Fantastic Four' actress told her father, "Now the house that you grew up in, dad, is yours." Mark was visibly moved and in tears, speaking fondly of his father, Jessica's grandfather, saying, "He would be so proud of you, Jessica."

The connection to his past was palpable, with Mark reminiscing about his upbringing in the home from 1972 until he got married.

Despite a light-hearted yet slightly awkward moment where Mark quipped about his youthful memories, including having had sex in the house, the significance of the home was deeply felt by the entire family.

Earlier in the video, Jessica shared that her motivation for buying the house was rooted in her desire to honor her grandfather’s memory. She explained, "Even though grandpa passed, like, this legacy is this house, and I tried to infuse grandpa throughout the house."

The home not only symbolized her grandfather’s achievements but also represented the opportunities he strived to provide for his children—opportunities he had not received.

Her grandfather had recently died, and her grandmother was struggling with medical bills that threatened to force the family to sell the home. Determined to preserve her family's history, Jessica seized the opportunity to buy the property and turn it into a new sanctuary for her parents.

Jessica Alba's hands-on home renovation marks a new career shift

Jessica Alba's journey didn’t stop at purchasing the home as she also got hands-on in the renovation process.

Alongside her best friend and co-host, Lizzy Mathis, from her series 'Honest Renovations', Jessica actively participated in the demolition of the house, wielding sledgehammers to start the transformation. Her involvement in the renovation is part of a larger shift in her professional life.
