Joe Biden uses expletive-laden nickname for Donald Trump behind closed doors, claims new book

Instead of referring to Trump as 'my predecessor' or the somewhat snarky 'the former guy', Biden reportedly resorts to something more colorful

WASHINGTON, DC: It seems President Joe Biden has some choice words for former president Donald Trump when the cameras aren’t rolling. According to Bob Woodward’s upcoming book 'War,' Biden doesn’t hold back when it comes to disparaging Trump in private conversations.

When President Biden, 81, talks about Trump, 78, behind closed doors, it’s far from the polite terms we usually hear in public.

Instead of referring to Trump as “my predecessor” or the somewhat snarky “the former guy,” Biden reportedly resorts to something much more colorful. According to 'War', Biden’s go-to nickname for Trump is “that f**king a**hole.”

This comes from a preview of 'War' shared by CNN and it gives us a rare peek into how Biden really feels when he’s off-script.

Joe Biden’s temper and use of profanity revealed in upcoming Bob Woodward book

If you’ve been paying attention, you might already know that Joe Biden has a bit of a temper and he’s not afraid to drop some strong language when he’s frustrated.

Back in October 2021, Politico reported that Biden regularly unleashed F-bombs at his aides in the West Wing — often switching things up with words like “bulls**t” or “dammit” depending on the situation.

So, the fact that he uses an expletive-filled nickname for Trump isn’t exactly a shocker.

Woodward’s book promises even more behind-the-scenes details about Biden’s presidency, focusing on some of the most challenging moments like the war in Ukraine and the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

It also touches on Biden’s rocky withdrawal from Afghanistan and his struggles with international leaders, the New York Post reported.

One particularly interesting moment involves a supposed phone call between Biden and former president George W Bush. During this conversation, Bush tried to console Biden over the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“Oh boy, I can understand what you’re going through,” the 43rd president reportedly said to Biden. “I got f**ked by my intel people, too.”

It’s not just Trump who gets on Biden's nerves. According to Woodward, the president had some pretty harsh things to say about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“That son of a b***h, Bibi Netanyahu, he’s a bad guy. He’s a bad f**king guy!” Biden reportedly said during a conversation with one of his associates in the spring of 2024. This came as tensions were rising with Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza.

And shortly after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Biden reportedly vented to his advisers. “That f**king Putin,” Biden said, according to Woodward.

“Putin is evil. We are dealing with the epitome of evil.”

The Donald Trump-Vladimir Putin connection

Bob Woodward’s book doesn’t just focus on Joe Biden’s presidency; it also delves into some pretty eyebrow-raising details about Donald Trump’s relationship with Vladimir Putin.

One of the most surprising claims is that Trump allegedly sent a secret shipment of Covid-19 testing equipment to Putin during the height of the pandemic. According to Woodward, Trump sent a batch of Abbott Point of Care machines for Putin’s personal use.

“Please don’t tell anybody you sent these to me,” Putin reportedly told Trump during a phone call.

Trump replied, “I don’t care. Fine.”

But Putin insisted, saying, “No, no. I don’t want you to tell anybody because people will get mad at you, not me. They don’t care about me.”

Trump has denied these claims, telling ABC News that the report is “false.” But Woodward’s book paints a different picture, suggesting that Trump maintained a close relationship with Putin even after leaving office.

In fact, the book recounts a scene where Trump asked a senior aide at Mar-a-Lago to leave the room so he could have what he described as a private call with Putin.

“According to Trump’s aide, there have been multiple phone calls between Trump and Putin, maybe as many as seven in the period since Trump left the White House in 2021,” Woodward writes.
