Bob Woodward labeled 'total sleazebag' by Trump campaign over his 'toilet tissue' book details
WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump's campaign has slammed claims made by journalist Bob Woodward in a new book that reveals the former president's continued relationship with Russin President Vladimir Putin.
The book titled 'War' set to be out on October 15 reveals Trump secretly sent Covid-19 tests to Putin during 2020 Vladimir Putin for his personal use.
Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin had seven phone calls
Bob Woodward's book details purported interactions between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin following Trump's departure from office. It also claims that there have been up to seven phone calls between Trump and Putin since early 2021.
In early 2024, the former president dismissed an aide from his Mar-a-Lago office, his private club and residence in Florida, to have a confidential phone conversation with the Russian leader, as reported from Woodward's account.
Although the book does not detail the conversations between the two, it concludes that Trump's actions were worse than those of Richard M Nixon, whose presidency was marred by the Watergate scandal half a century ago—a scandal brought to light by Woodward and his Washington Post colleague Carl Bernstein.
“Trump was the most reckless and impulsive president in American history and is demonstrating the very same character as a presidential candidate in 2024,” Woodward writes in the book, Washinsgton Post reported.
Donald Trump's alleged secret Covid-19 test shipment to Vladimir Putin
One of the more startling claims in 'War' is that Donald Trump sent Covid-19 tests to Vladimir Putin in 2020 for his personal use, a shipment that Putin allegedly wanted to keep quiet.
Woodward claims that Trump sent Putin several Abbott Point of Care Covid-19 test machines.
According to the book, Putin asked Trump to keep the shipment confidential, reportedly telling the former president. "Please don't tell anybody you sent these to me," Putin reportedly told Trump.
Trump allegedly responded, "I don't care. Fine." However, Putin urged Trump to keep the shipment secret, saying, "No, no. I don't want you to tell anybody because people will get mad at you, not me. They don't care about me."
Trump campaign's Steven Cheung labels Bob Woodward’s book ‘trash’
Donald Trump's campaign communications director Steven Cheung reacted to these allegations saying Woodward's book belonged in the "bargain bin."
"None of these made-up stories by Bob Woodward are true and are the work of a truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump derangement syndrome," Cheung told Newsweek.
"Woodward is an angry little man and is clearly upset because President Trump is successfully suing him because of the unauthorized publishing of recordings he made previously," Cheung added.
"President Trump gave him absolutely no access for this trash book that either belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section of a discount bookstore or used as toilet tissue," Cheung further said.
"Woodward is a total sleazebag who has lost it mentally, and he's slow, lethargic, incompetent and overall a boring person with no personality," he added.

The book also delves into various topics such as the Russia-Ukraine War, the Israel-Gaza conflict, and other international disputes, in addition to Biden's decision to appoint Merrick Garland as Attorney General, among other details.
Woodward reported that the former president's behavior had grown increasingly erratic, referencing discussions with Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who encouraged his colleague to abandon the belief that the 2020 election was stolen.
"Going to Mar-a-Lago is a little bit like going to North Korea," Graham told Woodward, adding "Everybody stands up and claps every time Trump comes in."
"Should never have picked Garland," Biden reportedly told an associate, speaking about the federal prosecution of his son Hunter. "This is never going to f*****g go away," he added.
Bob Woodward reveals President Joe Biden's profinity-laden remarks about Benjamin Netanyahu and Vladimir Putin
Following the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack and the ensuing war in Gaza and Ukraine, Bob Woodward described the relationship between Joe Biden and Benjamin Netanyahu as a roller-coaster.
Woodward's book also details President Joe Biden's use of profanity in comments about the Russian leader and Netanyahu.
It says Biden referred to the Russian president as "that f*****g Putin" after Ukraine invasion.
He referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a "son of a b****" and a "bad f*****g guy."
"What's your strategy, man?" Biden reportedly asked Netanyahu during an April phone call with Netanyahu replying that his forces had to go to Rafah, a city in southern Gaza.
"Bibi, you've got no strategy," Biden responded. After Israeli forces later moved into Rafah, the president privately called him a "f*****g liar."
"Bibi, what the f***?" Biden yelled at Netanyahu in July, Woodward wrote after an Israeli airstrike killed a top Hezbollah leader along with three civilians.
"You know the perception of Israel around the world increasingly is that you're a rogue state, a rogue actor," Biden said.
